Class 3 Tandem Water Truck Operator

Birch Mountain Enterprises is looking to hire two experienced Class 3 Tandem Water Truck Operators for a temporary 3-month contract, with the potential to become permanent. Must be TDG knowledgeable, with a minimum of 3 years manual transmission experience and previous Fluid hauling experience.

Job Summary:

Operating from our client’s site, this position involves the safe operation of Class 3 Tandem Water Truck units. Operators should be mechanically inclined and physically fit to work in all kinds of weather. Preference will be given to candidates that possess previous experience in the industrial sector and on Suncor firebag site.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Complete daily housekeeping of assigned truck to ensure maintenance of company image.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Ensure that all training is kept current.
• Attend daily toolbox and safety meetings as scheduled and adhere to corporate and site safety regulations and procedures.
• Maintain and operate all BME tools and equipment to the required standards and procedures.
• Follow all TDG and WHMIS standards and regulations.
• Operate Water Truck in a safe and efficient manner.
• Completion of daily documentation including but not limited to daily logbooks, customer work orders, field level risk assessment, pre/post trip inspections.
• Seek out continuous improvement opportunities.
• Follow instructions for tasks assigned by Supervision.
• Be comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
• Provide customer-focused services in all activities.
• Must be physically able to perform tasks and work in all weather.

Qualifications:

• Certification in H2S Alive.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• Previous or related experience operating Tandem Water trucks.
• Certification in Confined Space and Fall Protection.
• Minimum 3 years experience including up to 18 speed manual class 3 equipment.
• Possess a valid Class 3 driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract.
• OSSA (or BSO/CSO) and CSTS certification.
• Certification in Transportation of Dangerous Good, Daily Trip Inspections, Provincial Hours of Service, Weights and Dimensions, Cargo Securement for flatbeds, WHMIS, and H2S Alive considered an asset.
• Must successfully pass BME driver’s evaluation, D&A and fit for duty pre-employment screening.
• Mine drive experience is an asset.
