Position Description
The Department of Electrical and Software Engineering at the University of Calgary has an opening for a Sessional Instructor for the following course in Winter 2024 (January 2 - April 30, 2024)
ENEL 585 “Introduction to Power Electronics”

• Lab: Wednesday 9:00-10:50am
• Lecture: MWF 3:00-3:50pm

Course Description:
"Commutation. Diode rectifiers. Fully controlled 3-phase rectifiers. Choppers, inverters, ac controllers. Single-phase switch mode converters: dc-to-dc, ac-to-dc, dc-to-ac. Circuit and state-space averaging techniques. Switching devices and magnetics. ."
Qualifications:

• The successful candidate must also have very good previous teaching performance or shows the potential for very good to excellent teaching ability.
• It is strongly desired that the candidate is registered as a Professional Engineer in a Canadian Province.
• The successful candidate will be expected to have earned at least a master’s degree in electrical, Computer or Software engineering and must have a demonstrated background in the subject matter related to this course.
