Intermediate Electrical Engineering Position
Cornerstone Engineering is a mid-sized company providing multi-discipline engineering and project management services to the industrial business sector in Western Canada. We are currently recruiting for an Intermediate Electrical Engineering position. If you are someone who has 5-10 years of experience in Electrical Engineering within the industrial sector, are highly self-motivated, and possesses a strong desire to learn and be challenged continually, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide scope development support to project managers and project teams.
• Contribute to project estimating and scheduling efforts.
• Attend internal and Client project meetings when required.
• Take a lead role in electrical procurement processes including;
o Develop equipment technical specifications.
o Develop equipment requests for quote (RFQs)
o Provide equipment recommendations for purchase.
• Work alongside other engineering disciplines to coordinate engineering deliverables and provide seamless project execution from Cornerstone as a whole.
• Review, comprehend and provide input to P&ID drawings, Control Narratives, Instrument Indexes and Shutdown Keys.
• Review, comprehend and provide input to oil and gas processing equipment vendor drawing packages.
• Be involved in witness testing and electrical equipment walkdowns for quality assurance.
• Engineering development of Electrical Drawings including;
o Hazardous Area Classifications.
o Single Line Diagrams.
o Control Panel Layouts and Schematics (PLC, RTU, SCADA, DCS etc.)
o Network Architectures.
o Equipment & Motor Control Schematics.
o Electrical and Process Building Layouts.
o Cable Tray Layouts.
o Junction Box Wiring Diagrams.
o Electric Heat Trace Layouts and Schedules.
o Cable & Conduit Schedules.
o Electrical Installation Details.
• Prepare electrical construction work packages for Client and Contractor use.
• Provide remote construction support to field contractors.
• Attend site visits as required for project scoping, information gathering or construction support.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• 5-10 years working experience in an Industrial Electrical Engineering position.
• Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Membership with APEGA or ASET.
• Experience in power system design.
• Experience in control system design and specification.
• Be able to comprehend P&IDs.
• Comprehensive understanding of Canadian Electrical Code and other pertinent design standards
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; fluency in English is essential.
• Solid understanding of Microsoft excel and utilization of this software for design tools.
• Must possess a valid Canadian Driver's License.
• Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis.

• Strong focus on client service and building lasting relationships.
• Exudes a positive and professional manner at all times.
The following is Considered an Asset:
• Field level experience on industrial facilities.
• Familiarity with ETAP Power System Analysis software.
• Automation and programming experience.
