Significant teaching experience as well as a demonstrated ability to deliver this core music composition curriculum at the post-secondary level.

Note: This year the course will focus upon chamber music composition.

Qualifications For Computing Science Instructor

Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Computing Science, or equivalent

Able to demonstrate success in innovative or student-centered teaching techniques

2 years experience teaching the same or similar courses at another BC post-secondary institution

Knowledge of course learning outcomes an asset

Proficient with educational technology including databases and online learning environments

Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Film Studies, or equivalent

Able to demonstrate success in innovative or student-centered teaching techniques

Applicants who have completed their candidacy requirements or who have equivalent professional experience may be considered

Experience teaching undergraduate courses at a university level

A current CV containing relevant teaching experience (e.g., courses taught, textbooks used, where and when taught).

Supervision of graduate teaching assistants required

PhD or MFA in a relevant discipline

Evidence of current expertise in the course subject matter

Teaching and research experience in basic and/or applied neuroscience including experimental neuroscience on laboratory animals and/or human subjects.

Familiarity with the ethics, history or societal aspects of neuroscience and related disciplines.

Academic interest in the future of neuroscience.

Statement of teaching philosophy, including fostering an inclusive learning environment.

Previous post-secondary teaching experience is a requirement

Experience in programs such as Zoom, D2L and other digital education products would be an asset

MBA degree or equivalent and work experience in the field are desirable

Preference will be given to applicants who have experience providing instruction face-to-face and online in a post-secondary setting

Experience teaching undergraduate and/or graduate students in an engineering program will be viewed as an asset.

Lecture: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9:00 am – 9:50 am MT

Lab: Thursday 8:00 am – 9:50 am MT

Candidates must have a graduate degree in Engineering, or closely related discipline

A demonstrated background in the subject matter related to this course.

Applicants should be comfortable teaching in person

Possesses strong instructional and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to students of varying skill levels.

Minimum educational background is a degree in the field of animal science

Post-secondary teaching experience is considered an asset

BIO -1175 Animal Science, 2 lecture sections, (3 hours each)

BIO -2263 Animal Physiology I, 1 lecture and 1 lab (3 hours lecture; 2 hours lab)

BIO -2264 Animal Physiology II, 1 lecture and 1 lab (3 hours lecture; 2 hours lab)

Two years of experience teaching the same or similar courses at another BC post-secondary institution

Experienced with all Microsoft Office programs and applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, etc.)

It is strongly desired that the candidate is registered as a Professional Engineer in a Canadian Province.

Performs other duties related to the qualifications and requirements of the job.

Assists in the resolution of moderately complex problems in the areas of circulation, reserves, stack maintenance, and reference.

Responsible for ensuring timely and accurate services by retrieving and storing items in the ASRS, evenings, weekends and during exceptional circumstances.

Collects, sorts, shelves, shelf reads, arranges, moves and straightens stack materials. Processes traces and searches prepared lists of materials.

Oversees the work of student assistants as it relates to stack maintenance on evenings and weekends.

Provides back up for mail room delivery as needed.

Two years of experience teaching the same or similar courses at another BC post-secondary institution
