What will you do?


The main function of a Service Specialist is to attend on-site service visits, provide preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. Additional responsibilities related to the technical delivery of small service projects, work and time material and may be assigned as well. Our customers will have various products installed that fall into the - HVAC and automation controls, as well as their associated computer systems. The goal is to insure system up-time and efficiency. Responsibilities:


  • Deliver technical support coaching and direction to end users and colleagues
  • Represent Siemens at a range of customer premises in an appropriately professional manner
  • Complete repairs, replacements, upgrades, adjustments, and calibration on BAS systems by following written instructions
  • Identify and bring forward additional business opportunities including time and material work, system extensions, upgrades, and service contact expansion
  • Ensure that all records are kept up to date including, drawings, service records, and instructions
  • Provide field information as needed to the central dispatcher and other administrative support
  • Document problems for your customer, discuss, and advise them on the best course of action
  • Pursue ongoing learning in order to keep up with changes in the industry, new products and technologies, and new customer requirements
  • Diagnose problems, determine corrective action and repair Building Automation Systems (BAS) systems
  • Work safely by following the highest standard of safe work procedures and abiding by all applicable legislation and regulations
  • Perform preventative maintenance and diagnostics on BAS system components
  • Conduct training and development classes for customer operators and technicians
  • Work in collaboration with partner companies and their representatives


What will you need to succeed?


  • Diagnostic skills: ability to systematically identify and resolve technical problems
  • Experience independently delivering high quality service to a variety of customers; customer service oriented
  • 2+ years of experience working with Building Automation Systems (BAS)
  • Assets: Knowledge of building mechanical systems; training and certification in a related trade; understanding of the Building Code as it pertains to automation; specific technical knowledge of Siemens building automation systems.
  • A valid driver's license and ability to drive a company vehicle to customers in assigned region(s)
  • Ability to stay calm and professional under pressure, willing to communicate and work though complex problems
  • Knowledge of: electrical control systems instrumentation, industrial electronics, programming, and information technology
  • Autonomy, resourcefulness and strong organizational skills
  • A professional certification, college diploma, or university degree in a related field
  • Willingness to occasionally share on-call responsibilities with colleagues
  • IT literate and possess proficiency in Windows applications, including MS Office suite
  • Knowledge and experience with Open Communication protocols like BACNET, Modbus, etc.
