Overview


BCLC's two offices are located on the traditional, ancestral and unceded lands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam Indian Band), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Peoples in Vancouver and the Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc territory, situated within the Secwépemc Nation in Kamloops. Our Operations Division manages both provincial & national lottery games as well as instant lotteries through over 3000 retail partners across the province. We provide the gaming technology and set standards, policies & procedures across 37 casino properties in BC, ensuring a high standard of security and integrity.


We also provide online gambling through Playnow.com and our Lotto app including lottery, sports betting, Bingo, Keno, online slots or online casino games and Live Dealer table games where players can choose the online version of their favorite games while connecting with others across the province. Our Operations group is what makes it all happen, through day to day operations, project improvements, sales management, facilities, business intelligence and innovation.

Job Summary


The Senior Product Specialist, Regional Games is responsible for all aspects of product management of regional lottery products, as well as the launch of new, future regional gaming products. The primary objective is to drive growth, and maximize revenue and profit on the regional draw games portfolio. Currently this portfolio includes Keno, Pacific Hold'Em Poker, BC 50/50 and Poker Lotto.


The role is responsible for managing product performance, and monitoring player feedback to develop, research and launch new game enhancements concepts and features. In addition, this role provides informal functional leadership to the organization; leading cross-functional projects and acts as the subject expert/senior specialist to the organization on category related matters.


This role also works with other Canadian Lottery jurisdictions on an ILC Regional Games working group, collaborating on knowledge sharing, product development, and player research for future regional games.


Key Accountabilities


  • Manages a portfolio of products, including development of strategic product plans, involvement in forecasting financial revenue targets, and implementation of new products and/or product enhancements
  • Represents BCLC on the ILC Regional Games working group, providing leadership and supporting to drive the regional games business forward for all jurisdictions.
  • Works collaboratively with Marketing to develop marketing plans to support the category product strategy.
  • Leads, and is accountable for the development of diverse, creative, highly complex and specialized product plans and strategies, including product performance, product life-cycle analysis and product roadmap for assigned portfolio.
  • Proactively provides innovative product design solutions and identifies opportunities and enhancements by using highly advanced analytical, conceptual and imaginative techniques; conducts significant research, identifies future trends and best practices; facilitates and leads collaborative brainstorming and analysis with the team and demonstrates significant creativity in developing future focused product strategies.
  • Proactively builds, develops, maintains and manages strong working relationships with various internal departments, including Marketing as well as regulatory and government bodies, to ensure successful development and implementation of product plans.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Education and Experience
  • Degree or diploma in a marketing or business discipline;
  • 4-6 years current, related experience within a marketing or product management environment;
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Technical Requirements
  • Ability to design products to meet business needs, strategize solution implementation and identify implementation risks;
  • Understanding of B.C. gaming industry would be an asset.
  • Expert knowledge of principles, concepts, practices and techniques in the areas of product management;
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and multi-task with close attention to detail;
  • Excellent innovation in problem solving and demonstrated analytical thinking;
  • Proven leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office Suite);
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Advanced understanding of lottery gaming, and the entertainment trends both within BCLC and other jurisdictions;
