About Our Team

Our team is responsible for designing, building and maintaining a solution for managing products, quotations and underwriting for the insurance industry. It’s implemented in JS and Java, and deployed on premise and hyperscalars. Our team is primarily based in Toronto, with other team members based around the globe. We have a flexible remote/hybrid working model, with offices in the downtown core near King & Bay.

Requirements

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participate in the full development lifecycle: requirements & analysis, design & architecture, coding & testing, release and maintenance.
• Enhance legacy code, focusing on API enablement.
• Involved in customer interactions, particularly technical discussions in co-development opportunities.
• Hands-on full-stack developer, with a primary focus on back end.
• Develop a platform and foundation to support new greenfield initiatives and new teams.
• Work with both legacy and greenfield cloud-native applications.

YOUR PROFILE

• Team player- Mentoring & helping other member of the development team and Ability to build strong relationship with follow team members.
• Kubernetes Familiarity with Kubernetes tools, architecture, deployment, & DevOps. Preferably Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS) but not mandatory
• Good communication and presentation skills- Ability to clearly articulate topics and provide proper presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
• Good analytical skills- Ability to deconstruct information into smaller categories in order to draw conclusions including logical reasoning, critical thinking, communication, research, data analysis and creativity.
• Deep knowledge of Java development patterns and practices, Spring Framework & Spring Boot

Skills & Experience

• 6+ years of experience with Java, Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
• 3+ year of experience with automated testing frameworks, including API contracts.
• 3+ years of experience with React or An - SAP UI5 is an asset.
• 3+ years of experience with Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, scripting, and GitHub Actions.
