We are looking for a Sr Business Systems Analyst to support and evolve the development of our Financial Reporting Strategy.

The TELUS Finance Systems & Tools Strategy team is responsible for the design, implementation and ongoing support of our planning tool and certain reporting tools, and plays a key role in partnership with our Chief Development Officer (CDO) team to support our financial reporting function. This team will play a key role in unlocking new analytics and automation capabilities through the Finance systems and tools roadmap.

As a Sr Business Systems Analyst, you will help with the development of our Financial Data Mart and its evolution to aid key decision makers in Finance.

You will collaborate with Finance teams and your CDO counterparts to help set the vision, chart the roadmaps and work with a team of technology experts to develop and implement reporting and planning tools used by our Finance and business stakeholders to realize TELUS’ short, medium and long-term goals.

On any given day, you could be tasked with analyzing a new strategy to improve a reliability process or guideline, developing training material, consolidating user requirements for rolling out new processes, templates or tools, documenting process maps for workflows, or performing cost/benefit analysis. Here’s How

• Provide effective time management for multiple projects at a time
• Ask questions with the ultimate goal of understanding end-to-end processes which will help to improve and/or automate sustainable processes
• Support and develop our Financial Data Mart and its evolution, from coding, database design and maintenance
• Define and translate business requirements into functional and technical requirements
• Proactively bring expertise and creative solutions to improving processes, team effectiveness, digitization avenues, and productivity
• Outline deliverables including functional requirements and timing

You’re the missing piece of the puzzle

• Have taken part in large scale/or transformational projects and operations as an analyst / developer / architect
• University Degree or College Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field
• Data modelling skills and experience with SQL development using MS SQL Server or Oracle DB.
• 5-7 years of relevant experience in a Sr Business Systems Analyst role
• Strong Communication, business acumen, analytical and problem solving skills
