SCHOLARSHIPS AND BURSARIES ADVISOR

STUDENT FINANCIAL AID AND SCHOLARSHIPS

NorQuesters are difference makers and we’re searching for someone who can start small and think BIG in the administration of the College's internal Awards, Scholarships, Bursaries, and emergency funding programs.

Reporting to the Team Lead, Student Financial Aid, the Scholarships and Bursaries Advisor supports the Scholarship, Bursary, and Awards selection process through the evaluation of applicants and design of creative strategies while supporting Learners through the application, selection, award, and disbursement processes.

How You'll Make a Difference

• Understand policy and procedures related to awards, scholarships and bursaries.
• Collaborate with finance departments to ensure disbursement of funds.
• Track and report on award, scholarship, and bursary applicants and funds disbursed.
• Design and implement creative strategies to increase student and faculty awareness of scholarships and awards available to students.
• Connect students with internal and external resources that can assist with the emergency needs outside the scope of emergency funding.
• Plan selection procedures, evaluate applicants, and coordinate and guide choice of recipients.
• Promote awareness of external scholarships and bursaries.
• Guide students through the application process for Scholarship, Bursary, and Awards.
• Identify the need for new awards and adjustments of criteria for existing awards in consultation with Advancement.
• Update Blackbaud award management as required.
• Ensure that awards and scholarship applications are submitted, recipients selected, and congratulatory letters, awards certificates, and cheques are prepared following timelines.
• Participate in College events as required.
• Prepare and submit annual reports to provincial government.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Experience and education may be considered.
• 1+ years' experience in post-secondary student financial aid, student services or admissions role.

SALARY $2,047 - $2,660 biweekly ($53,230 - $69,156 annually) reflective upon what you bring AKA your education and experience. This is a full-time cover-off position to May 31, 2024 with immediate access to our benefits program.
