Reporting to the HSSE & S Manager for Oil and Gas Canada , t he H S SE &S Coordinator will be responsible for the provision of timely advice and guidance on all matters pertaining to Health, Safety and the Environment with respect to Legislation, Company Policy and Management System , and Client requirements, thereby ensuring business risks are prevented and mitigated.

T his position will p rovide HSSE & S support, direction & mentorship to project staff, maintain effective lines of communication, and foster a good working relationship with internal and external Clients , requiring c oordination of multi-office work with Wood’s Oil & Gas Office in Calgary, Global SMEs and Global Execution Centres to provide the required engineering resources for the project.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, implementing, monitoring and reviewing all aspects of the HSSE&S management system
• Oversee Travel Risk Assessment and approval process
• Manag e attendance and participation at project H S SE & S meetings, workshops and forums
• Assist in c ommunicating important messages from incidents and accidents as a part of the Progressive Learnings proces s to all relevant parties
• Manage fire wardens and first aiders, ensure training is up to date and adequate cover is assured
• Support HS S E & S incident investigations and undertak e the appr opriate reporting req uirements.
• Ensur e the HSSE&S Management System documentation is kept up-to-date and ensur e policies and practices are adopted
• Procure , maintain , distribute PPE and other H S SE &S related items
• Promot e workforce involvement in all H S SE & S activities, initiatives and programs
• Assist in coordinating internal and external audits
• Ensur e the requirements stipulated in HS S E & S interface documents/plans are communicated to all relevant personnel
• Assist in e nsuring that emergency response arrangements are in place and are communicated to all personnel; ensur e that project requirements align with Client requirements if these take precedence
• Coordinate attendance and prepare HSSE&S meeting agendas
• Liais e with and building relationship s with Client H S SE & S Reps and site Safety Reps as required
• Maintain a system for monitoring H S SE & S performance
• HSSE&S poster and notice board updates
• Maintain contact with PPE/Training providers

Skills / Qualifications

• Effective 2-way communicator, comfortable with presentation of HSSE&S presentations and programs, able to build strong working relationships with peers.
• CRSP Certificate considered an asset.
• Good planning and organizational skills
• Familiar with industry regulations
• Certificate or Diploma in HSSE or related industry considered an asset.
• Minimum 1-year HSSE Experience
• Effective/competent MS Office Suite User
• Understanding of ISNetWorld/AVETTA/ComplyWorks would be an asset.
• High level of communication skills in both written and spoken format
