As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking an experienced and results-driven Sales Manager to build and manage a high-performing sales team focused on selling to multiple verticals.
Role Overview: As a Sales Director reporting directly to the CRO, you will play a pivotal role in leading and developing a team of sales representatives to drive sales revenue across various verticals. You will be responsible for formulating effective sales strategies, implementing territory plans, setting sales quotas, and ensuring the team's success in meeting and exceeding targets. The Sales Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams and contribute to the overall growth and success of the company.
Responsibilities:
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with partnerships, marketing, product development, and other internal teams to align sales strategies, leverage marketing campaigns, and provide input on product enhancements based on customer feedback.
- Relationship Management: Foster strong relationships with key clients across multiple verticals. Collaborate with sales representatives to engage with key decision-makers, understand customer needs, and deliver customized solutions that drive customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and manage a team of local and remote sales representatives specializing in selling to multiple verticals (Government, Finance, Coal Mining, Waste Management). Provide ongoing coaching, guidance, and support to develop their sales skills and achieve individual and team goals.
- Territory Planning: Analyze market potential and assign territories to sales representatives effectively. Develop territory plans that optimize market coverage, identify key prospects, and prioritize sales activities to maximize revenue opportunities.
- Sales Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies tailored to each vertical, considering market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape. Collaborate with the executive team to align sales efforts with the company's overall goals and objectives.
- Quota Setting: Set ambitious yet realistic sales quotas for individual team members, considering factors such as historical performance, market potential, and business objectives. Regularly monitor and assess performance against quotas, providing timely feedback and support as needed.
- Sales Forecasting and Reporting: Prepare accurate sales forecasts, reports, and presentations for the CRO and board. Provide insights into sales trends, market dynamics, and competitive activities to support strategic decision-making.
- Sales Performance Management: Track and analyze sales metrics, including revenue, pipeline, conversion rates, and individual performance. Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance sales performance and exceed targets.
Qualifications:
- Familiarity with CRM software and sales productivity tools.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field (MBA is a plus).
- Strong track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets in a multi-vertical environment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated expertise in territory planning, including territory allocation and optimization.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a sales team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with proficiency in interpreting sales data and market insights.
- Proven experience as a Sales Manager or in a similar sales leadership role, with a focus on selling to multiple verticals.
- Experience in quota setting, performance management, and sales forecasting.
