Job Description

As a Key Account Specialist, you excel at building long-term relationships with key accounts in your region. With passion and strategy at the forefront, you effortlessly coordinate with managers and key account counterparts on a national scale. You work alongside our Commercial Sales Team to implement a market-specific strategy resulting in strong distribution, brand awareness, and achievement of defined objectives & KPIs. Success will rely on solution orientation and grit to drive volume and profitability with existing key account partners and new retail chain opportunities.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Sales Performance & Operations

  • Plan and execute regional key account meetings with a cadence that supports mutual growth
  • Monitor and prepare monthly reports on KPIs for Key banners
  • Improve sales performance with a commitment to excellence and non-complacency
  • Utilize CRM software to keep accurate records for contact and routine management
  • Develop, present, and negotiate merchandising and promotional calendars with retail partners to improve and increase brand exposure
  • Deliver distribution, volume, share, education, and executional KPIs
  • Set performance standards and benchmarks to establish the effectiveness of key account activity
  • Build presentations and use effective selling techniques to introduce products, features and benefits while working with the National Education Specialist to educate industry staff
  • Leverage data to analyze performance, market results, and employ fact-based selling techniques with retailers and partners


Relationship Building

  • Develop strong, long-term, and strategic relationships with regional key accounts
  • Participate in key industry events to represent and propel the brand


Team Support

  • Coordinate cross-functionally with our Brand and Trade Marketing team to deliver elevated retail executional excellence
  • Direct and motivate Commercial Specialists during national sales meetings, work with time in field, and through written communications to ensure focus on regional key account priorities
  • Inspire the sales team to ensure key account implementation with retail partners


OTHER DUTIES

At Pure Sunfarms, we are all growers at heart. Our plants and processes require in-person care and attention to ensure we’re bringing the best our plants and people have to offer to our consumers. This means other duties may arise since we work together to ensure we support all business activities – seed to sale.


This role is remote, which requires you to work remotely (or ‘on the road’). Will include travel to the office and/or site semi-regularly. Occasional travel to BC, AB, SK, MB, YK, and NWT will also be required based on our ongoing Key Account projects and initiatives in Western Canada.


YOUR BRAND, YOUR STORY

We already know you are passionate about Sales, but we want to know more about your story and experiences. You're good at the following:

  • University degree preferred – ideally Commerce, Business, or Marketing
  • Unrestricted license with a clean driver’s abstract
  • 3+ years of sales experience in Key Accounts sales; preference is given to those from heavily regulated industries like cannabis, beverage alcohol, tobacco, and pharmaceutical
  • A strong background in sales, joint business planning, presentation creation and execution is fundamental
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and impact positive outcomes
  • Demonstrated proficiency in building and managing relationships through multiple communication mediums
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Champion Pure Sunfarms’ values and competencies
  • Ability to lead engaging and effective presentations, internally and externally
  • Strong analytical skills with proven ability to organize and flex strategic decision making
