Dr. Gray’s Microinstrumentation Lab in the School of Engineering Science at Simon Fraser University (SFU) seeks a full-time Research Coordinator/Post-Doctoral Researcher to investigate wearable devices for detecting drug overdoses. The successful candidate is expected to work closely with our industrial partner and other organizations, including persons with lived experience; and help Dr. Gray coordinate the activities of the SFU team and report to the funding agency.Duties will primarily be performed on the SFU Burnaby campus in British Columbia and at partner locations in the Greater Vancouver Area.
The successful candidate is expected to have a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related field. Experience with some combination of machine learning, wearable devices, flexible electronics, biomedical instrumentation, and optics is essential. Candidates with a Master’s Degree and significant industrial experience directly related to the project may also apply. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Local candidates in the Greater Vancouver Area and those already in Canada are greatly preferred. Expected start date is June 1, 2023, but is negotiable; the initial appointment is for 12 months, with possible extension through March 31, 2025.
