The Opportunity

The Project Coordinator, Community Economies position is based on Fogo Island, and will report to VP, Community Economies. The Project Coordinator will provide coordination and administrative support to various projects and initiatives including events management (communications, planning, facilitation and logistics), contributing to program development, as well as performing research, data collection and analytics.


What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate community engagement activities (on Fogo Island and elsewhere) including facilitation, event logistics and communications.
  • Actively participate in project meetings, working groups meetings, and other project gatherings
  • Effectively engage and communicate with project stakeholders and develop communication materials
  • Developing project artifacts (documents, templates, logs, reports, etc.), maintain project documentation repositories, share insights on various communication mediums
  • Conduct background research, environmental scans and document reviews. Distill information and develop reports in a variety of formats.
  • Other administrative tasks including scheduling projects, monitoring expenses, drafting agendas, capturing meeting notes, and disseminating materials.
  • Contribute to the creation of various community economy toolsets such as Economic NutritionCM
  • Assist in the development of data collection tools and processes, oversee the collection of project related data, conduct analysis, distill information and develop summaries and reports

Qualifications you’ll bring

  • Strong interpersonal, conflict resolution and relationship management skills
  • An enthusiastic self-starter and problem solver with the ability to work both independently and as a team
  • Experience and knowledge in conducting research at a community or an academic setting
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Proficient in computer systems, such as Microsoft office suite
  • Bachelor Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Community Development, Business Administration).
  • Knowledge and familiarity with community and economic development work
  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience (e.g. project and/ or research coordination)
