About The Organization

The Resilience Research Centre ( RRC ) at Dalhousie University is under the direction of the Canada Research Chair in Child, Family and Community Resilience. The RRC conducts research and develops interventions to support individuals and communities in challenging contexts across culturally diverse settings around the world and is a multi-project research centre that has projects in several countries. Job Summary

Reporting to the Director, Resilience Research Centre, the Senior Research Project Consultant will manage research activities for various resilience-related research projects, including coordinating and facilitating activities, meetings and conferences to share study results, and ensuring project deliverables are met as per the required timelines and ethical standards are adhered to as per the funding agreement agency standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather qualitative and quantitative data and synthesize evidence.
• Support the identification and administration of research grants and funding opportunities, research contracts, and memoranda of understanding with the external funders and the universities involved.
• Create and manage annual project budgets, and ensure adherence to the funding agency and Dalhousie University protocols.
• Work on projects at the RRC under the umbrella of high-risk youth and health populations.
• Oversee data processing, analysis, and management (e.g., supervising data entry and interview transcription, and training Research Assistants).
• Contribute to presentations, reports, journal articles and publications and conduct literature reviews.

Note

The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.

Required Qualifications

• Proven ability to train and supervise Research Assistants.
• Familiarity with an academic or research environment.
• Experience overseeing the completion and operations of various research projects.
• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and sensitivity in working with diverse cultures in various contexts.
• Experience with questionnaire design (relevant to the study of resilience).
• Masters degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Community Health or in a related field with a minimum of 5 years experience working in a academic research environment.
• Experience with mixed methods, including concurrent qualitative and quantitative data analysis.

Assets

• Ph.D. in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Community Health or in a related field.
