Purchasing Coordinator Jobs

The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for issuing RFx's (RFP, RFQ, RFI etc) in compliance with public procurement law including Canadian Bidding Law and Contract Law. Additionally, maintaining compliance with all internal and external audit requirements and all internal signing authority polices and procedures. The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for price and contract negotiations and is expected to support standardization and quality product selection with the end-users and act as a resource to their product user groups. The role includes providing sourcing and purchasing consultative services to the Hospital users; vendor management, including vendor performance appraisals and liaison with GPO's (Medbuy) and SSO's (MSCS) and other outside interests. The Purchasing Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the accurate maintenance of the Purchasing Database, Contract Management and for overseeing the work of their commodity/program based team. The Coordinator will have experience in Public Procurement, RFx for Proposal (RFP) development and contract writing. Regular status updates and project monitor will also be requirements.

• PC proficiency and knowledge of spreadsheet, database, project management and word-processing software applications to access/analyze financial data, and to prepare reports and correspondence
• Minimum of five years work experience in a related field, preferably including procurement experience in a large, complex organization
• Demonstrated excellence in communication, team building, and the ability to initiate and model positive change
• Excellent skills in work organization and operating under pressure
• Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance or related field
• Demonstrated ability to expedite the decision-making process using value analysis techniques
• Demonstrated leadership ability and strong interpersonal skills

The Capital and Contracts Development team is responsible for the procurement of goods and services within the guidelines of the Broader Public Sector (BPS) Procurement Directive. The team supports multiple HHS sites and end users.
