Purpose and Scope:
As a member of the Corporate Purchasing team, the Purchasing Manager reports to the Director of Purchasing. The Purchasing Manager will lead the strategy development, implementation and execution of goals and objectives that are focused on the key commodities to enhance the overall performance of Stackpole International. A critical element of this role is to establish and build strong relationships with core suppliers to support Stackpole International. Travel within North America and some travel to global facilities will be required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Facilitate the definition of the core product strategies, goals and deliverables
• Champion all activities associated with VA /VE initiatives and continual cost improvements
• Establish strong relationships with key suppliers and build on existing partnerships
• Conducts analysis on spending and budget data; presents findings and makes recommendations to senior management to meet objectives of improving financial performance and realizing cost savings
• Perform other duties as required
• Provide direction and support to suppliers through all aspects of program management and product launches
• Integral role in supporting the overall initiatives of Global Purchasing
• Lead the development and implementation of core product strategies
• Implement a system and process that drives the most optimal Total Cost of Ownership when considering the entire supply chain
• Provide consistent communication to key suppliers regarding performance metrics
• Research the potential supply base for Companies that complement the Global Strategies, Mission Statement and Core Values of Stackpole International
• Total Cost of Ownership is inclusive of hard costs ( packaging , freight , tooling , piece price, terms, currency ) and soft costs ( Scorecard , quality , EOQ )
• Advanced vendor negotiation and program management skills, ability to lead sourcing events, influence key decision makers, and build successful partnerships with internal business units.

Qualifications, Education And / or Experience:
Qualifications:

• ERP user experience
• Excellent leadership and teambuilding skills required, able to work with internal and external parties to identify business requirements, design and implement business solutions, monitor vendor performance and/or resolve issues with diplomacy as required
• Must perform with the utmost integrity and be a cross functional team player
• University Graduate, Engineering or Business degree preferred
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels Senior Management and other levels within the organization
• Mechanical / Technical aptitude is necessary
• Excellent negotiation skills and a logical thinker
• Proven experience in people management preferred

Technical & Skill Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years progressive purchasing experience required in automotive component procurement
• Die Casting Experience required preferably in a T1 or T2 automotive environment
