Our client is a multinational chemical company. They have a plant (24/7 production site, approximately 200 employees) on Niagara Falls and are currently recruiting a Plant Process Engineer.

Our client is a multinational chemical company. They have a plant (24/7 production site, approximately 200 employees) on Niagara Falls and are currently recruiting a Plant Process Engineer.
Description
You will provide process engineering support and expertise to the plant across various fields including HSE, process improvement, new product introduction and capital project activities.
HSE experience:
- Support for PHA execution and follow-up, risk assessments, safety studies, incident investigations as required.
- Ensure that all activities carried out respect HSE rules, regulations and policies.
- Support the achievement of the site HSE objectives.
Process Improvement:
- Assist Operations Engineers on process troubleshooting as required.
- Lead/support specific process improvement initiatives(including Manufacturing Excellence, OEE improvements, variable cost savings, quality improvements). This includes development of the improvements, implementation and follow up on effectiveness.
- Lead process investigations or studies on plant performance, production utilization etc.
- Support the Manufacturing Excellence program.
New Product Introduction:
- Evaluate production costs for new products.
- Work with R&I and Operations departments to develop scale-up of processes from lab to pilot to plant scale.
- Lead/participate in trials of new products/processes at Pilot or Industrial scale.
Capital Projects:
- Participate in the determination of the technical feasibility and the economic value of a project or study.
- Provide process engineering support for capital projects. This includes for example P&ID development, heat & mass balance development, completion of equipment, instrumentation and control specifications.
- Manage assigned projects as required, under supervision of the manager.
General knowledge:
- Follow up scientific and technological developments and market evolutions within the own domain of expertise.
- Provide process technology support to customers, suppliers and auditors.
Profile
- Proven knowledge of HSE requirements for operations on a High Hazard chemical site.
- At least 5 years experience as an Operations Engineer / Process Engineer preferably in chemical industry but also willing to consider O&G, Pharmaceuticals, Speciality Chemicals, Pulp and Paper or Mining / Chemical process Environment.
- P. Eng. or eligible is mandatory.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical / Engineering is mandatory.
