Job Description
Currently looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Manager for a ONE-year position for our client here in Calgary, AB.


Scope Of Work


  • Oversee and manage all aspects of SAP Time and Schedule including queries, configuration, and maintenance of schedules.
  • Oversee the maintenance of payroll software, ensuring it aligns with Canadian payroll regulations and internal policies.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop payroll team members, fostering a collaborative, efficient, and high-performing work environment.
  • Develop and maintain payroll policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with federal, provincial, and local laws, as well as company policies.
  • Seeks opportunities to improve/enhance payroll and time processes, and provides insights and recommendations.
  • Stay up to date with changes in Canadian payroll legislation and ensure compliance with all statutory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, Finance, and IT, to ensure seamless integration of payroll processes with other business functions.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees and managers regarding payroll-related inquiries, issues, and policies.
  • Manage sensitive employee information ensuring confidentiality and integrity of data.
  • Manage overall payroll operations and ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll and time for all employees (salaried, fixed-rate, temporary, expatriates).
  • Collaborate with external auditors during payroll audits and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
  • Conduct audits of payroll data, ensuring accuracy. Facilitate investigation of data discrepancies/errors and resolve them in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and submit payroll reports, including year-end tax forms, to government authorities and internal stakeholders.


Requirements/ Qualifications


  • Experience in Canadian payroll management
  • Professional certification such as the CPM Designation
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, and communication skills
  • Experience with SAP and Workday would be considered an asset
  • 5 years of related managerial experience
