About The Role

Reporting to the Payroll Supervisor, the Payroll Administrator will be responsible for preparing payroll for over 700 employees, and maintaining our payroll system.

What You'll Do Here

• In collaboration with Human Resources, follow up on group insurance premiums for employees on leave
• Verify and validate group insurance invoices
• Manage the full year-end payroll process for Canada and Quebec by completing the necessary steps to close the year and submit reports (T4, T4 Summary, T4A, RL1, Summary 1, CNESST, etc.).
• Manage and prepare RRSP deduction remittances and payroll input
• Run and review payroll reports
• Work closely with the Human Resources department
• Other duties as assigned.
• Collaborate with the payroll software provider
• Research and resolve all employee and HR inquiries for payroll
• Ensure that payroll is processed timely and accurately with the organization standards, internal controls and company policies
• Prepare ad-hoc reports and participate in the gathering of information during audits
• Keep track of any changes in legislation or standards relating to employment law and internal pay policy
• Review and audit payroll operations and implement improvements to processes and procedures
• Analyze all payroll problems and provide appropriate resolutions
• Manage the different benefit plans, including group insurance, pension plans, and QPIP.
• Manage all payroll activities in accordance with federal and provincial statutory regulations
• Track and report taxable benefits and training expenses

What You'll Need To Succeed

• 5 years’ experience in payroll processing
• Enjoy the teamwork and the ability to deliver solutions, take initiative, and be resourceful
• Member of the Canadian Payroll Association (CPA)
• Possess a DEC or Certificate in Administration
• Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation an asset
• Good knowledge of the Office Suite with advanced skills in Excel
• Knowledge and application of Quebec labor standards
• Demonstrate a strong sense of service, patience, discretion respect, and tact
• Excellent knowledge of provincial and federal payroll principles, practices, regulations, and standard
• Rigor, meticulousness, attention to detail, and results
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
• Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken
• Strong organizational skills
