Job Title: Operations Assistant/Volunteer Coordinator

Location: #408 - 552 Clarke Rd, Coquitlam, BC (In-Person at our Thrift Store)
Job Type: Full-time; 35 hours per week
Salary: $20 per hour

Low Entropy Foundation is seeking a highly organized and motivated individual to join our team as the Operations Assistant/Volunteer Coordinator. This position plays a crucial role in supporting our day-to-day operations and coordinating volunteer activities. Responsibilities:
1. Operations Support:
- Provide direct support to the Assistant Executive Director in the day to day operations of the social impact organization and the thrift store.
- Assist with general administrative tasks to support overall operations.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities for increased efficiency.
- Help manage inventory and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Assist in coordinating logistics for events, meetings, and other organizational activities.
- Moving supplies from our storage locker to our store.
- Provide coverage in the thrift store when needed.
- Representing the organization at special events.
2. Volunteer Coordination
- Maintain regular contact with volunteers, providing updates, sharing opportunities, and addressing concerns.
- Coordinate volunteer schedules and assignments, ensuring coverage for all required activities.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with volunteers, evaluate volunteer performance and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of volunteer hours, activities, and accomplishments
- Recruit, train, and onboard volunteers to support various organizational initiatives.
- Collaborate with different teams to ensure seamless coordination of volunteer efforts with organizational goals.
- Organize volunteer events and recognition programs
- Serve as a liaison between volunteers, staff, and other stakeholders, ensuring effective communication.
Qualifications:
- Clear criminal records check
- Passion for our organization's mission and values.
- Proven experience in volunteer coordination, project management, or related fields
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle is required
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize responsibilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and motivate volunteers
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work evenings and weekend hours as needed.
- Proficient in using Google Workspace
