Job Description

The Office and Events Assistant is essential in providing support to the Executive Director and Committee Chairs to ensure the successful coordination of events


Responsibilities

This position can expect to communicate and coordinate with vendors and event partners, keep spreadsheets up to date, support the event committees with a variety of tasks, provide office support to the Executive Director, and take pride in their contribution to the overall success of each event.


Qualifications

-Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a PC-based environment

-Strong organizational skills, problem solving and communication skills

-Friendly, outgoing, professional team player with good customer service, phone and email communication

-Experience with social media (FaceBook, Instagram, Twitter)


This position is partially funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Program. To be eligeable candidates must meet the following criteria:


-Be between the ages of 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period (youth must be 15years of age at the beginning of the employement period. The youth may be more than 30 years of age at the end of the employment period as long as the youth was 30 at the beginning of the employement period).

-Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of employment.

-Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employement and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial legislation and regulations.


This is a temporary position for 9 weeks for at least 30 hours per week with a wage of $20 per hour.
