About Our Operation

The Center for Support and Development is located in Rouyn-Noranda (Cadillac sector), in Abitibi-Témiscamingue. We provide services to Agnico Eagle's various Canadian and / or international mining operations in a variety of areas, including administration, financial services, IT, purchasing and logistics, human resources, communications and technical services (geology, engineering, metallurgy, PMO, infrastructure and environment).

The Technical Services Department develops concepts related to new projects through technical studies, it shares knowledge and lessons learned (risks and opportunities) throughout the Company, and it provides high-level technical support to continuously improve quality.

Your Next Challenge

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will be part of the Mining Engineering department. You will ensure that objectives are met while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's values, the health and safety code of conduct and the environment. You will be supervising a group of professionals consisting of mining engineers, mining technicians and various consultants. You will support the development of several mining projects, open pit or underground, at various stages (mining potential assessment, preliminary study, pre-feasibility, and feasibility), in the countries where Agnico Eagle is present. You will participate in the evaluation of the company's resources and reserves and as such, you may be called upon to act as a qualified person in the field of mining engineering. Finally, you will also be involved in the company's digital transformation and various innovation projects.

• Develop and coach team members in order to successfully carry out mandates and projects (schedule, costs, quality, management of expectations, reports, validation of data parameters);
• Act as a qualified person for selected company projects in accordance with National Instrument 43-101;
• Attend various project coordination meetings, departmental meetings, etc.;
• Supervise a team of mining engineering professionals (annual objectives, development plans, hiring, etc.);
• Provide and coordinate technical support to operations;
• Maintain your department at the forefront of new technologies and best practices in the mining industry;
• Take part in various optimization, innovation, digital transformation initiatives, etc.;
• Coordinate the writing of technical studies (preliminary, pre-feasibility and feasibility) for aspects related to the field of expertise of your department;
• Support the project evaluation team, project development and existing operations;
• Work in close collaboration with the leaders of the different studies in progress;
• Participate in the development of the strategic vision for Technical Services within Agnico Eagle;
• Propose and follow up on annual budgets, purchase approvals and expenses for your department.
• Collaborate with the various directors and corporate teams;

What You Need To Succeed

• University degree in mining engineering;
• Minimum of five (5) years experience in team supervision;
• Member in good standing of the “Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)”;
• Minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in the mining field;
• Ability to manage priorities and to distribute tasks adequately among the different members of the team.
• Good analytical and synthesis skills;
• Fluency in Spanish is an asset;
• Have leadership, teamwork and good interpersonal communication skills;
• Available to travel, occasionally internationally, as part of your work;
• Minimum of five (5) years experience in project management and/or development;
• Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken;
• Good technical knowledge of the mining industry (ventilation, planning, design, drilling & blasting, cut-off grade, OPEX, CAPEX, geotechnics);

Your Work Schedule

• Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
• Workplace: Possibility of working in one of Agnico Eagle’s offices closer to your residence, either in Rouyn-Noranda, Preissac, Val-d'Or or Mirabel. The work can be hybrid between working from home with an obligation to work some days a week from an Agnico Eagle office.
• As the main location of the group is in Abitibi, it is expected that a person residing in Toronto or Mirabel would have to travel in the region on a regular basis. Charter flight provided by Agnico Eagle.
