Underground Mining Superintendent Jobs

Minimum of five (5) years experience in project management and/or development;

Minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in the mining field;

Minimum of five (5) years experience in team supervision;

Have leadership, teamwork and good interpersonal communication skills;

Good analytical and synthesis skills;

Good technical knowledge of the mining industry (ventilation, planning, design, drilling & blasting, cut-off grade, OPEX, CAPEX, geotechnics);

Job Duties/Responsibilities May Include, But Are Not Limited To

Strong communication and leadership skills.

Minimum 6 years prior experience in the target industry and field assignments.

Knowledge of Caterpillar products, policies, and procedures

A bachelor’s degree in an accredited Marketing or Engineering curriculum.

Demonstrated ability to work independently, communicate effectively with others in the work group, dealer personnel and customers.

Solid experience in the areas of project management of technical and trade-off studies.

A degree in Mining Engineer with more than 15 years’ experience relevant to the responsibilities listed above.

Expert knowledge in a range of mining methods and all aspects of mine engineering.

Complete task assignments within Work Management to coordinate and schedule tasks within the area(s) of responsibility.

Contribute to the implementation of new systems/processes and provides guidance, auditing, mentoring and analysis support to the management team.

The ideal candidate will possess a Post-Secondary education or equal work experience.

A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in underground mining operations.

Knowledge of the Workplace Safety and Health Act, company standards and procedures.

Knowledge of underground mine design, mining engineering, drilling/blasting, backfilling, ventilation, scheduling, surveying, incentives, mine's metrics tracking required.

Advise management of potential problems, safety issues, schedule difficulties, etc. Assist in resolving such problems as required

Minimum 10+ years of leadership experience in underground mining, working to contract plans, specifications, applicable codes and jurisdictional requirements

Assist in preparing work plans and scheduling to determine manpower levels, material quantities, and equipment requirements

Travel to remote site and work underground

Minimum 1 year of underground experience

Must have experience in Underground Drilling and Blasting
