We are currently looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Technologist to join our busy and growing manufacturing company. GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY
Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, the Manufacturing Engineering Technologist will perform Engineering and various related administrative functions for the Manufacturing Engineering department and work on related projects as assigned.
Key Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Design and develop jigs and fixtures
- Work with cross functional departments to implement and drive product change requests (PCR)
- Recommend process and technical design changes to improve capacity, throughput, quality, cost, and safety
- Work with a team of key stake holders, to pioneer the implementation of automation throughout various work cells
- Create and maintain Production work instructions
- Monitor and implement a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
- Investigate and implement design and process revisions to reduce quality costs associated with manufacturing scrap, rework, and field warranty
- Pilot new product introduction (NPI) within but not limited to production and supply chain
- All other duties as assigned
- Generate, monitor, and analyze production data to create weekly KPIs
- Provide engineering support to the Production department to troubleshoot and resolve technical constraints
Skills and Qualifications:
- Electronics experience an asset
- Proficient or certified in Solidworks
- Ability to multitask
- Experience with ERP systems would be an asset
- Strong attention to detail in design and problem resolution is required
- Strong computer skills (Auto-CAD, Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills, presentation skills are considered an asset
- Team player that can easily adapt to change
Educational/Experience Requirements:
- Some experience in manufacturing engineering, including design of assembly jigs and fixtures and workflow layouts
- College or University degree (BA or Business Degree) in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering program
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience
