Program Overview


TheToronto North Local Immigration Partnership (TNLIP)develops and maintains new partnerships and implements a local settlement strategy in the Toronto North geographic area.


We’re looking for someone who will:


  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff; be responsible for integrating the work of all staff and maintaining operations according to the work plans approved by the Project Management Group (PMG); lead process for development of annual work plans with assistance of coordinators of work groups and in consultation with Partnership Council and PMG (steering committee)
  • Provide support, information and advice to enable the effective functioning of the Project Management Group and the Partnership Council of the project; convene meetings of these bodies and participate in meetings of Toronto InterLIP bodies
  • Prepare all reports and annual budgets, monitor program expenditures and maintain accurate and timely records, statistics and reports
  • Share information regarding priorities and initiatives with other quadrant LIPs, NLT, and the National LIP Secretariat, and work collaboratively with all Toronto LIPs to implement city-wide activities
  • Maintain current partnerships, seek relevant members, and support their participation and leadership
  • Prepare annual performance review (APR) and oversee implementation of agreed evaluation framework and tools. Conduct monitoring and evaluation to promote project sustainability
  • Coordinate activities across work groups finding alignment with activities of other three quadrant LIPs, Newcomer Leadership Table (NLT), Toronto Newcomer Office and other key stakeholders
  • Participate in community/neighbourhood networks, community consultations and relevant forums


Flexible hours / evenings / weekends may be required for this position.


Minimum Qualifications& Experience:


  • Strong knowledge of immigration, settlement, employment, and organizational development
  • Degree in Social Services, International or Community Development, Knowledge Mobilization or Communications, Political Science, Business, or a related field
  • A clear Police Vulnerable Sector check is required for this position
  • Computer literate; the ability to learn systems used by the agency (ie. SalesForce)
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • 5 years’ of Community Development facilitation experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work within a team environment and with multiple levels of management
  • Strong problem-solving skills, solution-focused
  • Experience in budget preparation, strategic planning, service coordination, and project management; effective organization and time-management skills
