Position Overview

As the Manager of Technology, Infrastructure and Development, you will be responsible to oversee the full suite of our end-to-end practice management platform. You will work closely with our highly experienced Development team oversee project delivery milestones and manage offshore vendors and related stakeholders to support our product roadmap. The ideal candidate will have experience working in software development and agile practices specifically in the .NET domain. Additionally, you will provide oversight of our cloud-based architecture and security infrastructure and have worked in a Microsoft Azure environment. You will manage our offshore teams, work with external vendors, and have the necessary project management to monitor key performance milestones and metrics.

Scope of duties:

• Technology Infrastructure Management:

1. Maintain and manage our technology infrastructure, including network, servers, storage, and cloud-based resources.
2. Continuously strive to ensure availability, scalability, and security of our infrastructure environment to keep pace with changing business needs.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement infrastructure improvements to support business objectives.
4. Stay updated with emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions to enhance the technology infrastructure.

• Software Development Oversight:

1. Partner with our offshore development vendor to oversee the software development lifecycle from conception to deployment, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.
2. Collaborate with development teams to define project scope, objectives, and timelines. Provide timely reporting to senior management.
3. Implement and promote agile development practices to maximize productivity and responsiveness.
4. Conduct code reviews and provide guidance to developers to maintain code quality and consistency.
5. Foster a collaborative and innovative development environment.

• Team Management and Vendor Coordination:

1. Manage a small in-house development team by providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
2. Coordinate with offshore vendors, ensuring seamless integration and efficient collaboration.
3. Report on budget, cost analysis for all external vendors.
4. Monitor and evaluate vendor performance to ensure compliance with service level agreements.

• Cloud-based Architecture and Infrastructure:

1. Utilize your expertise in cloud-based architecture, specifically Microsoft Azure, to ensure scalability and functionality.
2. Leverage cloud resources to optimize system performance, cost efficiency, and data security.
3. Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends in cloud computing and infrastructure.

• Project Management and Product Lifecycle Management:

1. Effectively manage multiple technology projects, ensuring successful delivery within budget and timeline constraints.
2. Utilize project management methodologies to plan, execute, and control projects, while mitigating risks and resolving issues.
3. Collaborate with stakeholders to define product roadmaps, prioritize features, and manage product lifecycles.

What You Offer

• Strong communication skills and ability to grow, inspire and build teams
• 5+ years of web .NET 6, .NET Core, frontend (React.js, Redux or Vue.js) and cloud (Azure) is desired
• Understanding of software engineering practices/processes (e.g., Lean, Agile, DevOps, CI/CD etc.) and continuous improvement through measurement
• Experience with back-end technologies such as Node.js, Express.js, MongoDB or MySQL is desired
• Experience leading geo-distributed scale engineering teams and experience building platforms or worked on a start-up environment.
• Financial acumen and experience in estimating and managing budgets.
• Experience in software development building large-scale SaaS, PaaS or IaaS products using public or private clouds is a bonus
• Experience collaborating with multiple functional and technical teams including partners, stakeholders, contractors, and consultants to deliver projects.
• Degree in Engineering or Computer Science from a recognized institution.
