Job Description

Our client is an emerging leader in the Utilities Industry and have shown incredible growth over the last few years. As part of their strategic evolution they are recruiting for this newly created role.


Cicso experience is a specific requirement for this role


Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Management:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive IT, OT, and cybersecurity strategies aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices.
  • Ensure scalability, reliability, and efficiency of power utility systems while meeting regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Oversee the planning, design, and implementation of infrastructure projects, including network upgrades, data center expansion, and real-time communication systems.


Infrastructure and Network Management:

  • Monitor and analyze system performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement necessary enhancements to support the power utility operations.
  • Manage the operation, maintenance, and optimization of power utility infrastructure, including data centers, networks, and telecom systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of infrastructure components and technologies.


Database and Middleware Management:

  • Oversee the administration and management of databases, ensuring their availability, integrity, and security.
  • Develop and implement data management strategies to support the power utility's needs, including real-time data processing, analytics, and reporting.
  • Manage middleware solutions, ensuring seamless integration and interoperability between various systems and applications.


Distributed Energy Resources (DER) and DER Management System (DERMS):

  • Oversee the integration and management of DER technologies, such as solar, wind, and energy storage systems, into the power utility infrastructure.
  • Lead the implementation and optimization of DERMS solutions to effectively monitor, control, and optimize DER assets.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and alignment with industry standards in managing DER integration and operations.


Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI):

  • Manage the AMI system, including meter data management, communication networks, and data analytics.
  • Oversee the secure and reliable collection, processing, and analysis of meter data to support billing, load forecasting, and customer service.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to leverage AMI data for improved operational efficiency and customer engagement.


Team Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, compliance, and legal, to ensure effective coordination and alignment of IT, OT, and cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to a team of IT, OT, and cybersecurity professionals.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning within the team.


Qualifications and Experience:


  • Relevant certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or others, are highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of network management systems, including SCADA, DMS, ADMS, OMS, DER, DERMS, and AMI.
  • Strong expertise in infrastructure management, network architecture, data center operations, and real-time communication systems.
  • MUST have strong CISCO technology knowledge and experience.
  • Extensive experience in database management, middleware solutions, and data analytics.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards, such as NERC CIP, ISO 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and others.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in information technology, operating technology, and cybersecurity, ideally within Utilities, but essential in a 24 hour operation.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
