Learning And Development Specialist

JOB STATEMENT:

We are building our Learning and Development Team and looking for a dynamic Learning Specialist. Reporting to the Manager, Learning and Development and working in a fast-paced environment, the L&D Specialist will be responsible for content creation, develop and delivery of engaging learning experiences through a variety of training tools and resources to both internal and external clients on both MFDA/IIROC platforms.

LOCATION: Vancouver, BC (Hybrid)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Maintain standards, best practices and templates utilized in the development of training materials
• Develop and maintain business procedures (guides, cheat sheets, videos, infographics job aides).
• Foster creativity and innovation in development, design and delivery of learning products including e-learning instructional videos, facilitation of webinars, and exploration of new and creative ways to support our network of Advisors and Assistants.
• Incorporate methods to measure learner comprehension and course effectiveness.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
• Explore new and creative ways to train our business partners that identify and optimize synergies
• Adapt instructional materials created for one format to another format (for example, adapting materials designed for instructor-led training to e-learning)
• Analyze training needs, design, develop and deliver online learning experiences
• Active participant in the annual review of training content on the portal and suggesting updates;
• Travel may be required up to 10% within Canada
• Analyzing, researching and responding to inquiries in a proactive manner;
• Provide expertise in adapting current curricula to alternative delivery channels such as e-learning, self-study packages, virtual, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong technical skills and the ability to manage technical glitches and train around them
• Effective management of projects, timelines and priorities
• Experience in delivering and/or moderating live and virtual training sessions
• In-depth knowledge of instructional design principles and learning theories with experience in designing and developing interactive and engaging e-learning content
• Ability to work independently, know when to seek help while effectively collaborating with various stakeholders
• Familiarity with the Dataphile is an asset
• College or University degree preferred with education in adult learning, technical, and communication or organization development
• Experience in planning lessons and course curriculum
• MFDA or IIROC experience in the investment industry an asset
• Bi-lingual is an asset
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational and listening skills
• Familiarity with content development tools (Ex. Word, PowerPoint, SnagIT, Camtasia, Articulate Storyline, Captivate, Photoshop, Illustrator, WordPress) or other LMS solutions and video editing tools
• Strong customer focus and strong professional acumen
