IT Support Technician

The IT Support Technician serves as a technical expert for the development, implementation, management, and support of systems and networks. This dynamic position works with every department and is responsible for providing various forms of computer-related technical assistance and improving the efficiency of the work of the staff through the use of technology.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Administer, add, move, and change requests, maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
• Install and maintain containers and server applications.
• Perform system backups and recovery. Assist in the planning and implementation of Disaster Recovery exercises.
• Write technical specifications and documentation.
• Setup and maintain end user devices and all applicable peripherals with their associated operating systems and software.
• Assist with the setup and maintenance of servers, network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, wireless access points, telecommunication equipment and UPS.
• Answer, prioritize, and respond to requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, and other computer-related technologies as well as all telecommunications issues.

Experience and Qualifications

• Windows network administration in a domain environment.
• Detail oriented, with good organizational skills.
• Programming knowledge, especially c, c++ or c# is an asset.
• 1-year equivalent systems support (hardware and software) experience.
• Flexibility to pivot quickly with shifting goals of team and organization.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft 365 Suite.
• Proficient with iOS and Android.
• Independent worker that thrives without constant supervision.
• Effectively communicate with co-workers both verbally and in writing.
• Demonstratable mechanical aptitude and capabilities.
• Related Post-Secondary education.
• Willingness to learn, collaborate, cooperate, and develop skills on an ongoing basis.
