Global Partnerships Department
The International aid and development researcher for Global Partnerships reports to the Global Partnerships Lead and will be part of a flexible work environment. The intern will have the option of working remotely with the possibility of meeting in person depending on relevant events and meetings.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Support the International Fundraising Plan (coordinating meetings, research on donors and upcoming events to strengthen relationships with partners, help with advance meeting prep)
• Grant Management (support the organization of files, reporting deadlines and some project management)
• Research assistance (from time to time, support research on donors including public and private sector, HelpAge programmes and upcoming opportunities)
• General support (support the Global Partnerships lead on events, virtual and in person, and HelpAge networks)
Competencies
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent written verbal communication skills as well as exceptional research skills
• Excellent time management, organizational skills, and detail orientation – ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• A good understanding of global politics, Development/NGO sector, Government relations, international fundraising
Skills and Experience
• Post-secondary education in International Relations, Public Policy, Business or other relevant combination of skills and experience.
• Good research and analysis skills with an ability to work independently and part of a team, meeting deadlines, writing policy briefs, strategic analysis of policies
• Experience with GAC or Multi-lateral organizations is an asset
• Experience and familiarity with Government/NGO/Multi-lateral organizations is highly valued
• Proven experience with Microsoft Office
• Desirable to have, Power BI/Google Analytics experience for visualization of data, desirable to have Project Management experience (or managing multiple projects)
