Job Description
The Project Manager, Development oversees the elements of the expansion projects prior to and including handoff to Design and Construction. This will include site selection, due diligence planning and coordination, initial test-fit and preliminary design work, preliminary project schedule creation, site design & entitlement coordination, tracking contracts, risk assessments and sales support. The key focus of this role is to support site acquisition and development and ensure that sales have all the required information to support customer projects, and that Compass can successfully execute on the projects post hand-off. The PM will work with cross functional teams to maintain and monitor all aspects of the pre-sales elements of the projects. The PM will also be tasked with developing vendor relationships in order to negotiate pricing and deliverable timelines and speak with customers regarding the status of the project, while assisting with the management and the creation of contracts with vendors and individual consultants using standard statements of work and contract conditions.


Main Responsibilities


  • Ensuring projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project
  • Interface and communicate with both external customers/vendors and internal customers in a professional and expedient manner
  • Compiling weekly, monthly tracking and reporting of all statistical data pertinent to the role and the overall departmental objectives
  • Ensure stakeholder views are managed towards the best solution
  • Assisting with Procurement and the associated financial work
  • Coordinate and track all change requests from the team and project members
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction
  • Conduct regular meetings with local staff to transfer knowledge and improve the ability of local teams to assist with future projects
  • Maintain communication internally on project progress
  • Also includes working with vendors, managing the relationship with vendors
  • Plan, coordinate and/or supervise activities of all personnel on assigned project(s) and consistently monitor project progress with available tools
  • Create a project management calendar for fulfilling each goal and objective
  • Lead or assist with complex bid proposals related to new business development
  • Chair and facilitate meetings where appropriate and distribute minutes to all project team members
  • Manage and report on related budgets
  • Assess project risks and issues and provide solutions where applicable

  • Preparation, including documentation of departmental process and procedures as required

Qualification & Experience


  • Minimum 6 years work experience post completion of undergraduate degree
  • In-depth knowledge of site due diligence, construction and permitting of commercial and industrial facilities
  • Manage multiple projects across multiple time zones

IT Skills -


  • IT skills as per Responsibilities and Experience sections
  • PC Skills – advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Project
  • Use of PC/laptop to generate analytical and well documented analytical reports

  • Ability to work across many cultural norms and expectations
  • External Contacts - Requires exchanging information and coordinate activities with external parties' trades, engineers, designers, brokers, attorneys, equipment vendors, carriers. There are significant elements of persuade, influence and negotiation at this level. Communications required with project members and customers who reside in multiple countries across many time zones.
  • High degree of discretion and tact in handling confidential matters
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with a positive, professional style
  • Internal Contacts - Requires exchanging information, consult and/or coordinate and giving advice or direction other departments within the organization.
