Job Description

We currently have an exciting opportunity as a HRIS Analyst. This role could be based in Oakville ON or Montreal QC, and reports to the Director, HR Operations.

Job Summary


The HRIS Analyst is responsible for the efficiency and effectiveness of the Human Resources Information System. The HRIS Analyst manages HR data, including employee records, payroll, and time off. This position will support ongoing process improvement activities to bring greater efficiency to HR as well as the entire company. This role is also responsible for resolving system issues, providing guidance to end users, managing software implementation projects, performing system enhancements, system maintenance, system testing, system upgrades, data entry and operational reporting.


Principal Responsibilities


  • Partner with internal stakeholders to develop technology solutions that help to streamline and automate HR processes.
  • Ensuring security, end-user access, and data integrity across all HR platforms.
  • Support the data governance processes.
  • Reviews and analyze system functionality and provide recommendations for improvements, documenting any implemented changes. Remains up to date on product developments.
  • Lead system enhancement initiatives, including configurations and testing in non-production system environments, and develop prototypes and demos of new system features, modules, and functionality.
  • Support critical system maintenance and operation tasks within the HRIS.
  • Translate business objectives and user needs into clearly written technical requirements while ensuring security, end-user access, and data integrity across all HR platforms.
  • Administrator for the HR systems and applications.
  • Enters employee data and maintains data quality, including proper data security, by performing regular data audits and resolving any data integrity issues.
  • Maintaining data integrity within and across systems, conducting system audits and reconciling discrepancies with other functional areas to ensure data accuracy.


Qualifications & Experience


  • Preferred Asset: Bilingualism Eng/French
  • Experience with report-building tools.
  • Preferred Asset: HRIS Analyst certification from Workday and/or Dayforce, or from other providers such as the Information Professional Certification (HRIP) from the International Association of Human Resources Information Management (IHRIM).
  • Experience with data visualization (Power BI)
  • Solid understanding of Human Resources processes and procedures with a broad knowledge of all aspects of human resources management systems.
  • Preferred Asset:
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Expert in MS Excel
  • Experience maintaining data integrity within and across systems, conducting system audits and reconciling discrepancies with other functional areas to ensure data accuracy.
  • Minimum 5 years of HRIS experience and HR Processes , i.e. HRIS System such as Workday and/or Dayforce.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills: demonstrates the ability to meet short-term needs while at the same time building a plan and systems for future needs.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and execute tasks independently, providing timely follow-up and resolution.
  • Experience with report writing and database management.
  • Experience with statistical modelling and descriptive statistics
  • Knowledge of HR operations and continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in IT, Data Science, Business, Human Resources, 5+ years of related experience.
