Analyst, Global Sourcing


The Analyst, Global Sourcing will join the Enterprise Procurement team of others reporting to the Senior Manager of Global Sourcing. The Analyst will be involved in conducting analysis to support category strategy development and execution and actively contribute to supplier engagement. They are required to have strong analytical skills with extensive experience using Excel and/or Access in order to conduct quantitative analysis and build/maintain a category fact base using multiple (and sometimes ambiguous) sources of data and provide recurring and ad hoc sophisticated analytical assignments to the category management teams.


Accountabilities:


  • Assists team by driving supply market research (e.g., market structure, behavior, barriers to entry, pricing, quality, product changes, service levels, trends)
  • Leads analysis on spend data/researching trends
  • Assists in effective strategic supplier relationship management, risk analysis and compliance management programs with regard to category management.
  • Coordinate store roll-outs with warehouse and business stakeholders.
  • Support and conduct ad-hoc analysis using internal & external data sources for business-specific issues supporting brand and category teams, including but not limited to consumer research, market audits, customer data analytics.
  • Leads development and circulation of dashboards, reports, and other tracking tools.
  • Leads the development of market bench-marking activities.
  • A passion for solving problems by using analytics and machine learning tools.
  • Manage vendors, execute product set up, monitor inventory, create purchase orders and reconcile invoices for our Procurement warehouse.
  • Find opportunities to streamline and optimize internal processes and build dashboards and performance reports that support a standardized analytics approach to everyday business challenges.
  • Leads assessments of suppliers within spend categories, including risk level
  • Prepare and review period and quarterly adjusting journal entries and reconciliations for assigned business segments;
  • Creation of presentations to be presented to senior-level executives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with associated departments e.g. Marketing, Store Development, Merchandising, Operations, Category Management, Pharmacy, Finance etc.
  • Updates key market indices.


Skills And Capabilities


  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and efficiently manage internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong experience in building and communicating case studies to senior-level executives.
  • Previous knowledge of database management tools is preferred.
  • Experience with budgeting/forecasting process.
  • Knowledge of the transportation and logistics industry and ability to analyze large and complex databases.
  • Understanding of benchmark practices.
  • Strong data analytical skills.
  • Understanding of forecasting, inventory management and procurement would be an asset.
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office Applications including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Previous experience in procurement tools / ERPs like Ariba / Fieldglass or SAP preferred.
