Edelman Global Advisory Ottawa is looking for an Analyst to join their Public Affairs practice. Analysts support client teams tracking deliverables, monitoring issues, coordinating research projects, and producing first round drafts of deliverables for clients as assigned. Analysts play a crucial role in supporting account managers to provide strategic advice and insights to support the clients’ needs. This position requires strong research and analytical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate complex information.

Scope of Work

• Support with event management, including creating stakeholder maps, coordinating with events team, outreaching to relevant offices, and third-party suppliers as well as handling logistical arrangements.
• Support with advocacy campaign execution, monitoring, conducting research, and stakeholder mapping.
• Collaborate with team to design integrated data driven programs to achieve outcomes on critical issues across multiple sectors.
• Assist in new business processes by conducting research and developing presentations.
• Build relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels.
• Assist in developing clear and effective government and communication strategies and messaging by drafting first round of client deliverables.
• Consistently deliver high-quality internal and external content often under tight timelines and with competing priorities.
• Develop biographical and policy briefings including conducting research to inform these documents.
• Provide daily support for account management and assist in the regular operations of the client's business.
• Collaborate in scenario planning, strategy and thought leadership sessions with internal staff and clients.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the Canadian Parliament, federal policy, and legislative affairs highly desired.
• Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Client and interpersonal skills, proficient at effectively conveying information through various communication channels such as phone, email, and face-to-face interactions.
• Demonstrates a proactive nature and a willingness to actively contribute and assist in special projects and tasks whenever required.
• Proficiency in conducting thorough research, analyzing information, and presenting findings in a clear and concise manner is essential.
• Atleast2 years of experience in government, government relations, or communications.
• Strong writing and editing skills to ensure clarity, persuasion, and polish for content, documents, and other written materials.
• Post secondary degree in political science, public policy, communications, or similar program.
• The ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and collaborate with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
