Job Description
As the Global Head of Asset, Insurance, and Product Risk Management, you are part of the Chief Commercial Officer (“CCO”) Risk Team and responsible for leading, organizing, and managing second line of responsibility (“2LOR”) oversight for Asset Management, Insurance, and Product functions (hereafter “Overlay Functions”). You will also be a member of the Overlay Functions Management Team. You will report on a solid line basis to the CRO CCO and on a functional line basis to the Head of Asset Management, Insurance, and Product Management. This role will manage a team of specialists that focus on each of the Overlay Function risk areas. You will be responsible for providing strong risk and compliance governance, by maintaining clear, effective, and efficient risk management framework, enabling forward looking risk management. This includes risk strategy, ensuring a sound risk culture, effective policies and procedures, and monitoring the activities of the Overlay Functions. You will be responsible to proactively challenge and advise the Overlay Functions risk taking, compliance matters and behavior through analysis and opinion.


Day To Day


  • Conduct proper and timely oversight & strategic asset, product, and insurance risk assessments and ensure overall Overlay Function coordination/ monitoring/ reporting. Monitor the Overlay Function risk profiles.
  • Ensure that the GBU’s and Overlay functions take, own, and manage risks as a 1st line of responsibility.
  • Ensure efficient and effective residual value impairment testing cycles.
  • Maintain and monitor the Overlay Risk Standards, Policies, and Procedures to ensure strong risk governance.
  • Monitor, control and check all Overlay Function risk and control activities in compliance with risk policies and regulation, resolve potential risk reporting issues.
  • Monitoring and further optimizing the In Control Framework – controls within the Asset Management and Remarketing, Product Lifecycle, and Insurance processes.
  • Ensure corrective actions are initiated timely, lessons learned are embedded in the Asset Management organization as well as other applicable areas.
  • Assess external and industry developments (including regulatory) to identify emerging/material risks and incorporate these into the Overlay Function risk appetite and reporting accordingly.
  • Lead and/or participate in projects initiated by the global risk department or Overlay Functions, assist in the formulation of project objectives and create/ execute a project plan.
  • Bring expert knowledge into the Overlay Functions. Assure the Overlay Functions are challenged from a risk perspective on strategy and risk appetite setting.
  • Provide high-quality reporting to the Global Risk Committee and other relevant bodies.
  • Facilitate effective and efficient findings and actions via management process, monitor successful implementation of resulting action plans, and ensure quality control regarding operational risk incident reporting & finding and action management.
  • Regularly advise senior management regarding risks, appropriate controls, remediation, actions and status thereof. Pro-actively propose and implement applicable improvement plans.
  • Plan, organize, monitor and report on the Overlay Function risk and control activities, continuously liaising with and between management. and Group Functions.
  • Chair the Global Asset Management Committee for each of the Global Business Units, Chair the Insurance Product Overlay Risk Committee, and support the Product Approval and Review Committee
  • Facilitate and challenge the Overlay Function risk appetite statements (RAS) with appropriate risks and limits

  • Bachelor degree, MBA a plus
  • Proactive and a self-starter.

Applicable pay range


$190,973 - $286,460 (This role is eligible for sales commissions which increase the target earnings beyond the listed pay range)


DLL is considering candidates in numerous locations. The pay estimate displayed represents the typical pay range for candidates hired for this position in the desired primary work location. Pay may be adjusted outside the projected range based on geographical differentiation as well as for any other lawful reason. Additional factors that may be used to determine your actual pay include your specific skills, years of relevant experience you possess, and other work-related qualifications. Many candidates may start in the bottom half of the applicable pay range, especially those with less experience or qualification.


This position is subject to the terms of DLL’s compensation plans and policies. Further, the position includes all other benefits provided to DLL employees, including healthcare benefits, 401k matching, vacation, sick leave, parental leave, possible discretionary bonuses, and all other benefits that are all governed by and subject to ERISA plan documents and eligibility.
