Job Description
Referred applicants should not apply directly to this role.

All referred applicants must first be submitted through Workday by a current Loblaw Colleague.

Come make your difference in communities across Canada, where authenticity, trust and making connections is valued – as we shape the future of Canadian retail, together. Our unique position as one of the country's largest employers, coupled with our commitment to positively impact the lives of all Canadians, provides our colleagues a range of opportunities and experiences to help Canadians Live Life Well®.

At Loblaw Companies Limited, we succeed through collaboration and commitment and set a high bar for ourselves and those around us. Whether you are just starting your career, re-entering the workforce, or looking for a new job, this is where you belong.

Who you'll work with:

You will work in the Value Analytics and Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) team and operate in a trusted advisor capacity to Loblaw’s Enterprise Procurement Group's (EPG) category teams as well as a range of colleagues across the company to help change approaches and model behaviours while guiding them through change and implementation to achieve sustainability of their programs.

What you'll do:

You will build the strategies, capabilities, systems, and processes needed to deliver bottom-line results and ensure those results will be sustained. Our work is about mentoring others to achieve success in implementing new approaches and delivering lasting outcomes. You'll have the chance to lead projects and progress with minimal supervision, including tracking metrics, handling complex analyses, developing practical recommendations and preparing communications to report back to internal partners.

Specifically, you will:

  • Structure ambiguous problems and take action to address them, and synthesize clear takeaways from complex information into clear takeaways and recommendations using both qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Provide a unique set of tools and techniques to find opportunities for improvement and you will implement recommendations in support of the business objectives.
  • Work directly and effectively with various teams while sharing your expertise and insights with colleagues, thereby growing our knowledge, and refining our approaches, to come up with the best solution and move people and teams to act.
  • Communicate effectively with all audiences, including senior leaders, in a structured manner.
  • Make important, hands-on contributions across a dynamic set of situations in a way that uses your deep knowledge of functional transformations. You will use automation and digital processes to realize significant performance improvements quickly as well as push both your colleagues and our teams in thinking about challenging situations in new and creative ways.
  • Establish trust-based relationships with teams to better serve them by blending critical thinking with hands-on experiences, advising on developing and defining strategies to help teams address their most critical problems.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in engineering, business, operations, or related fields
  • Excellent engagement skills to achieve collaboration and alignment and build an inclusive environment while working autonomously with little direction
  • Project and process management skills, with expertise in prioritizing and balancing multiple projects/tasks simultaneously
  • Experience implementing business processes and controls, including ongoing improvement opportunities
  • Highly capable problem solver; ability to work on complex problems requiring a strong analytical, conceptual and quantitative ability while becoming comfortable with ambiguous, constantly evolving situations
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (specifically Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Microsoft Power Platform (specifically Power Automate, Power App, Power BI) tools
  • Ability to grasp and communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • 3+ years of proven experience, preferably in procurement, risk, compliance, or audit at global firms and/or consulting firms
  • Proven experience in developing documents and presenting complex information to colleagues at all levels

Our core values:

  • Care: We are committed to improving the health and well-being of all Canadians. We care about our colleagues, customers, communities and the environment.
  • Ownership: We approach every day with personal accountability and commitment. We build trust by not only saying we'll do something, but following through.
  • Excellence: We lead together through innovation and superior performance. We seek new ideas, embrace change and deliver amazing customer experiences.
  • Respect: We act with integrity, respect and openness every day. We believe every person should feel comfortable showing up to work being proud of who they are.

Our commitment to Sustainability and Social Impact is an essential part of the way we do business, and we focus our attention on areas where we can have the greatest impact. Our approach to sustainability and social impact is based on three pillars – Environment, Sourcing and Community – and we are constantly looking for ways to demonstrate leadership in these important areas. Our CORE Values – Care, Ownership, Respect and Excellence – guide all our decision-making and come to life through our Blue Culture. We offer our colleagues progressive careers, comprehensive training, flexibility, and other competitive benefits – these are some of the many reasons why we are one of Canada’s Top Employers, Canada’s Best Diversity Employers, Canada’s Greenest Employers & Canada’s Top Employers for Young People.

If you are unsure whether your experience matches every requirement above, we encourage you to apply anyway. We are looking for varied perspectives which include diverse experiences that we can add to our team.

We have a long-standing focus on diversity, equity and inclusion because we know it will make our company a better place to work and shop. We are committed to creating accessible environments for our colleagues, candidates and customers. Requests for accommodation due to a disability (which may be visible or invisible, temporary or permanent) can be made at any stage of application and employment. We encourage candidates to make their accommodation needs known so that we can provide equitable opportunities.
