We are currently recruiting for a Supplier Manager to join our team on-site in Calgary, AB or Mississauga, ON. Supplier Managers are responsible for sourcing of potential suppliers, developing and maintaining supplier relationships, determining the right supply base and negotiating contracts and business requirements while optimizing the total acquisition & operating cost of the aircraft program. You will also be responsible for the administration of commercial agreements with our suppliers, management of issues, and the implementation of product improvements. Candidates will be working closely with various Engineering, Operations, Aftermarket, Logistics, Finance, Legal and Program departments where developments of these relationships are a key success factor.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clear, concise and accurate progress and impact reporting in compliance with Organization governance and management systems.
  • Identify & source suppliers to satisfy production and/or aftermarket requirements.
  • Monitor and manage supplier performance including cost, quality and on-time delivery.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, commercial agreements, product changes, as well as amend contracts.
  • Ensure contracts are administered and maintained in accordance with our business requirements.
  • Establish a robust management system to drive execution of the sourcing team and their suppliers to meet program objectives.
  • Build positive relationships with suppliers as well as internal stakeholders from the working level to executive level to achieve program objectives.
  • Identify, analyze and realize cost optimization opportunities.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of the market for the product family and have a solid comprehension of suppliers’ capabilities, their positioning in the market, and their strategies.
Education & Experience:
  • APICS certification (Asset)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and experience using ERP systems.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in supply chain/strategic sourcing.
  • Results oriented and a team player comfortable working with all aspects of the organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English).
  • Experience on development programs and in project/program management (Asset).
  • Comfortable dealing with all levels of an organization.
  • Intermediate to advanced level of MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
  • Experience in the aerospace industry and/or manufacturing environment (Asset).
  • Solid negotiation experience with ability to understand legal terminology, draft, and review contracts.
  • Ability to work in a highly technical environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration and/or have extensive experience in supply chain.
  • Strong presentation skills, and ability to get into details as well as provide executive summaries of complex situations.
  • Strong financial acumen with proficiency in MS Excel to analyze and compare prices and costs.
