Multimatic is a privately held, global enterprise supplying engineered components, systems, and services to the automotive industry. The company’s core competencies include the development and manufacture of complex mechanisms and body hardware, suspension systems and body structural components as well as the design, engineering, and development of lightweight composite automotive systems.
Multimatic's IT group is located in Markham, Ontario, and we are currently seeking aBusiness Solutions Specialist - HRIS,who will be reporting to the Business Solutions Manager.
Scope of Position:
As part of the Enterprise IT team, the Business Solutions Specialist – HRISis dedicated to implementing, optimizing and maintaining enterprise-wide HR systems and technologies. The position is responsible for maintaining the integrity and integration of various internal/SaaS HR systems, leading/supporting the implementation of new systems and enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives. Working collaboratively with Corporate HR and various stakeholders across the organization. The Specialist will manage these systems along with SaaS providers that support HR processes and the HR Technology Roadmap.
This position acts as the2ndor 3rd line of support to the local user community, leading Workday system architecture/design, Workday HCM/SAP ERP integration, testing, documentation and support, and the implementation of Workday configuration and ongoing system enhancements in terms of technology perspective.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support HR technology-related communication and change management efforts
- Design, prepare and accurately maintain technical specifications, configuration workbooks, test scripts and training documentation
- Provide training to key HR and IT partners as required
- Lead and/or support the implementation of HR systems and technology from a Technology point of view
- Resolve/Assist with inbound and outbound integration issues, with existing and new integrations
- Manage complex system configuration and user access permission administration
- Perform other duties as deemed necessary by Business Solutions Manager
- Responsible for ensuring stakeholders are informed and user issues are escalated appropriately
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and/or provide solutions to end users
- Research, analyze and recommend functionality and new innovation for existing HR systems to improve system use, support business processes and/or fill business gaps
- Develop, and execute the IT components of the implementation project plan, in partnership with the Corporate HR Operations manager, IT, Payroll or Finance as necessary
- Maintain and upgrade skills in relation to existing and new systems. Understand industry standards and best practices, and share knowledge with HR
- Liaise and manage service delivery, SLAs of HRIS SaaS provider
- Oversee regular occurring releases and updates, ensuring they have been reviewed, tested and accurately applied on a timely basis
- Assess system stability and data integrity and develop initiatives to establish consistency and optimum use of systems
- Participate in monthly and yearly weekend system maintenance
- Analyze and investigate issues that are identified by the division(s). Provide leadership, direction and hands-on support to help resolve departmental issues
- Manage day-to-day HR IT system operations and provide ongoing support in partnership with Workday
- Adopt and practice Kaizen Principles, and Concepts and participate in Gear activities
Basic Requirements:
- Ability to collaborate with all levels of employees within a multicultural environment
- Sound knowledge of business process design and mapping
- Knowledge of Help desk systems (e.g. Jira, Service Now)
- 5+ years of hands-on years experience in configuration, support of Workday HCM, and HR process
- Systems administrator experience in a cloud-based HR Information System (HRIS). Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) (other solutions will be considered)
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information in a professional manner
- Understanding of Project Management methodology
- Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Robust analytical, reporting and data problem-solving skills
- Strong technical and functional knowledge of core HR business processes and practices
- University Degree in Engineering/Computer Science or Equivalent
- Strong communication, presentation, influencing and negotiation skills to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Exceptional customer service skills
- Understanding and application of agile, lean and continuous improvement practices
- Knowledge of change management principles and methodology
- Exposure to SAP ERP is a plus
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Office environment: approximately 15% travel required to local Multimatic office/production locations
