| About the role
This is an exciting HR Generalist opportunity! You will lead operational activities for a variety of People and Culture programs, alongside strategic planning and focus on total rewards and performance management. You will lend support to other internal teams, providing you with growth and internal advancement opportunities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
compensation, recruitment support (creating job postings, screening candidates, participating interviews, completing reference checks), evaluations and performance management benefit and pension coordination, employee recognition program management, HR internal communications, along with reporting and people analytics.
Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the HR Generalist will perform a wide range of duties supporting the organization to ensure effective HR business operations. Key areas of responsibility will include the design, development and delivery of new hire onboarding, and employee off-boarding, employee life-cycle services, including collaboration with payroll and benefits.
The incumbent will be required to operate in a dynamic, multi-project environment, and to liaise with multiple stakeholders for many of the responsibilities of this role.

| What You’ll Do

  • Responsible for making continuous process improvements, identifying efficiencies and creating process documents/frameworks with the goal of streamlining the process while maximizing efficiencies and employee experience; 
  • Support the Senior Total Rewards & Wellness Specialist, with various leaves, providing professional and credible solutions to employees;
  • Support the people team with annual compensation programs (i.e. merit increases and bonus plan) and performance management;
  • Partner with stakeholders to coordinate logistics to ensure seamless onboarding and offboarding experiences;
  • Provide recruitment assistance by developing recruitment materials; screening applications, scheduling and conducting interviews, completing reference checks and assisting with continuous process improvements;
  • Be the key point of contact for new employee and manager questions pertaining to HR policies and benefits;
  • Initiate and implement all benefits, pension enrolments, departures and changes.
  • Continuously review and optimize the onboarding process and implement improvements in partnership with team members and other key stakeholders as it pertains to systems and processes;
  • Lead the onboarding process for new hires to ensure due diligence is completed in a timely manner to comply with legislation and procedures and create a position onboarding experience;
  • Being the point of contact for our employee recognition platform vendor and leading the key programs;
  • Documenting all leaves, working with payroll to complete and implement payroll calculations;
  • Provide project/special assignment support, gather information, conduct research, and assemble pertinent materials, as required.
  • Act as the main point of contact for all employee questions and work closely with vendors to resolve employee issues and inquiries;
  • Work with the internal audit team to prepare and review multiple audit projects; reconcile and provide supporting documentations for audit and compliance requirements;

| Minimum Qualifications

  • Diploma in Human Resources Management or Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, or a related field;
  • Possess comprehensive expertise in key HR areas such as recruitment, compensation, total rewards, performance management, and talent management;
  • Demonstrated experience and proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the highest level of discretion and professionalism.
  • Demonstrates strong ability to provide accurate and timely HR support to various lines of business within the organization;
  • Possesses sound foundational knowledge of applicable HR functions and related policies, procedures and legislation; 
  • Minimum 5 years’ progressive experience working in Human Resources, with demonstrated experience in a generalist position, including benefits/leaves coordination, employee life-cycle services and collaboration with internal stakeholders;

| Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the Payments Industry or Financial Services sector is a plus;
  • Demonstrated continuous learning within most HR areas, CHRP/CHRL designation is considered an asset.

| Salary Range
Based on qualifications and experience: $76,501 and $95,626.
