Job Description

In this role, you will partner with our business leaders, coach with curiosity, support and hold self and others accountable to perform and grow. We’ll look to you to facilitate quality leader conversations, deliver leadership topics to engage our people, with a focus on performance management and well-being. The People Advice Partner will ensure compliance with applicable employment legislation, leverage data and insights to deliver strategic people priorities and be part of a team whose purpose is to have the best leaders leading our people.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide counsel and mentoring to managers and employees related to employment issues with the focus on respect at work and make Aviva the best place to work
  • Understand Aviva’s business and engage in relevant work that aligns with our people and business priorities
  • Provide consulting, mentorship, and information on a variety of issues such as, employee relations performance management, salary administration, performance improvement plans, business operating model changes and ensure that our people actions are aligned with our Aviva values and business strategy
  • Proactive employee relations and case management. Conduct and/or participate in workplace investigation
  • Facilitate and deliver leader workshops or team huddles on a variety of topics such as; Managing Performance, Respect at Work, Attendance Management, Managing Virtual teams, Mental Health, Coaching for Performance
  • Assist in the effective interpretation and application of HR practices, guidelines, and programs to ensure understanding across the Company
  • Communicate and collaborate with people leaders to enable manager self-reliance, empowerment, and successful people outcomes
What You’ll Bring
  • Prior experience leading workplace investigations and organizational change
  • Demonstrate ability to connect with a diverse group of people and positively influence considerations and decisions
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business Administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Human Resource professional such as CHRP designation is preferred.
  • Communicate with courage, confidence, collaboration, and care
  • Facilitate and deliver leadership training to support a leadership capability, growth, and a performance culture
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.)
  • Experience in the financial services industry helpful
  • Five (5+) years of experience in an increasingly responsible HR generalist /business partner role with a bias and interest in employee relations
