Jayce Grayye Consulting & Recruiting is seeking a Financial Claims Manager for one of our clients!They are a specialized financial services firm that helps small businesses and nonprofit organizations obtain theEmployment Retention Credit (ERC) from the US government. The Financial Claims Manager will be responsible for the prompt, accurate, and smooth processing of dozens of ERC claims every week.The Fulfillment Manager will supervise the company’s Claims Specialist, who parses financial documents, inputs client data, calculates credits, and prepares filing packets.The Fulfillment Manager will have primary responsibility for client communications, gathering necessary documentation, answering client questions, and carefully reviewing all filings to ensure accuracy.
This position combines managerial, financial, and customer service elements.First, proper time and task management is essential; the company will always have multiple claims (ranging in size from $10,000 to $1,000,000) in various stages of processing, each requiring daily monitoring to move the process forward. Calmly and efficiently managing those claims on the company’s AirTable database, and working closely with the Claims Specialist on fulfillment, is a core part of the job.Second, while knowledge of the rules of the ERC is not a prerequisite, the Financial Claims Manager will need to master them so that they can explain them confidently and accurately to clients.Expect a steep learning curve at first.Third, clients trust the firm with their money, and the role will often be their primary point of contact.Customer service must be excellent and inspiring of trust.
Structure & Compensation
- Fully remote, full-time, but flexible schedule (as long as the job gets done)
- $60,000-$80,000 USD Base + bonus (depends on experience). A very experienced candidate that checks every box potential up to $95,000/USD Base
- Independent contract-based position but seeking a team member that at least can typically commit for 1 year +

Our client is quickly ramping up operations. They are a small, dynamic team (under 4 people) led by experienced entrepreneurs with big plans to grow. Over time, they may diversify to process other kinds of tax claims, but at this time their sole focus is the ERC.This role is perfect for anyone who is highly self-motivated and eager to work in a fast-paced, flexible, remote-work-based environment, while gaining valuable experience in accounting, customer service, and, potentially, scaling the operations of a startup.
Day to Day
- Reporting to the Vice President and maintaining AirTable database for full visibility to the President and Vice President, occasionally
- Depending on interest and capacity, assisting in scaling business operations
- Generating reports for senior management, affiliates, and others
- Communicating with clients via phone and email, collecting
- Managing all active claims from document intake through final filing, working with the Claims Processor to move claims forward to prompt resolution, and carefully tracking claims on AirTable
- Information and answering questions regarding the ERC
- Reviewing and editing claim documents, as well as writing summaries of claims and documentation, researching new questions and, at times, directly calculating ERC claims using the company’s proprietary methodologies
Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Aptitude and ability to master complex tax rules
- Ability to thrive & work efficiently in a remote context as part of a fast-paced, small team (for now)
- University-level courses in accounting, finance, and/or law are ideal but not required
- Fluency with Google Sheets and ability to quickly learn AirTable database
- Experience providing outstanding customer experience
- 3-5 years experience in an operations role, ideally in the fields of financial management, accounting, or tax preparation, including experience managing a small team
- Reliability, trustworthiness, and a close eye for financial detail
