Financial Reporting Manager Jobs

The Manager, Financial Reporting plays a key role in the execution of daily finance and reporting responsibilities for the Company. The Company is a rapidly growing, professional services firm that provides services to law firms, and is private equity backed by Renovus Capital Partners. To date, the Company consists of LAC Group, Wilson Allen, HBR Consulting, Aurora North, and Younts Consulting, and has operations globally in the U.S., Canada, and the UK. This role will report directly to the CFO and work closely with the Director of Financial Reporting. The role is located in Canada and is fully remote.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with Canadian and US tax returns as needed
• Perform timely month-end close and ensure recording all pertinent transactions including setting up of monthly accruals and properly documenting journal entries across all entities
• Monthly review of projects’ trial balances and maintenance of key schedules for letters of credit, loan amortizations, other and accrued liabilities, and equity roll; and ensures that all control accounts are reconciled to the subsidiary ledgers
• Monthly reconciliation of intercompany accounts
• Assist with integration matters as needed
• Lead the entire audit process for the Company dealing with our external auditors
• Prepare the initial consolidation for the Controller to review
• Internal Controls: Review and improve internal control procedures to ensure compliance with financial regulations and minimize risk exposure.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, including income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement
• Experience researching, and writing technical accounting memos
• Manage cost ledgers for any misclassification of costs and record required cost accruals (invoices, interest, cost to complete, etc.)
• Perform regular bank, trust deposit and loan reconciliations

QUALIFICATIONS

• Deadline and performance driven
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work effectively
• Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office, advanced Excel Skills
• Knowledge of IFRS is required, US GAAP knowledge is an asset
• CPA designation is required
• Experience working in a big 4 or big 10 Canadian accounting firm is strongly preferred
• Experience with Netsuite is an asset
• Experience with M&A accounting and PPAs is an asset
• Participate in M&A planning and integration
• Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Ability to take initiative and work proactively
• 5+ years of progressive experience in finance and audit
• Detail oriented, efficient and accurate
