Finance Analyst (A/P)

Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager Accounts Payable, Cash Management and Expenses, the Finance Analyst plays an important role within the Sagen Finance team as they are responsible for monthly and quarterly close processes, and processing invoices for payment.

Responsibilities

• Participates in special projects, as required.
• Processing of invoices for payment and performs related Accounts Payable activities.
• Reviews and processes applications for rebates to borrowers under Sagen’s Energy Efficient Housing Program, ensuring all requirements are met.
• Entering LMO deposits into DMS.
• Assists with the annual GST/ HST return preparation process.
• Participates in team initiatives to implement process improvements for financial reporting, system improvements and automation.
• Performs ad hoc requests, as required.
• Prepares monthly reconciliations, including tracing transactions to source documents to determine if discrepancies exist and making recommendations for any correcting journal entries.
• Processing of premium batches including deposit and posting of batches.
• Participates in external and internal audits, including preparation of working papers.
• Set up vendor profiles in Oracle Accounts Payable as required.

Skills And Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently in a remote work environment.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills, accurate and detail oriented.
• University degree.
• Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• 1-3 years of progressive Finance experience.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Good communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with Oracle Accounts Payable module an asset.
• A self-starter that delivers quality work product with minimal oversight, while striving to keep their manager apprised of the status of deliverables.
• Experience with Accounts Payable processing.
• Experience with IIMS (Integrated Insurance Management System) an asset.

Work Location

This is a hybrid position. The incumbent will be in office 4 days per week and work from home 1 day per week, with the exception of month end where work from home is more flexibile.
