Position Summary
We are looking for a Sr. Finance & Compliance Analyst, based in our Mississauga head office reporting into the Director of Finance & Control. This role is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate reporting of Financial Results and providing guidance in coordinating the monitoring of Internal Controls within the division. Key responsibilities include performing PEC closing activities, reporting Financial Results, and offering Decision Support and Planning for assigned areas of responsibility. The role also involves monitoring Internal Control Data Analytics, validating exceptions, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing action plans as directed by the business. You will ensure effective ownership and understanding of Internal Control Risk & Control (R&C) Self Assessments and coordinate Business reviews of Risk & Controls.
A day in the life of a Sr. Finance & Compliance Analyst:
PEC/Reporting:
  • Ensure financial results are aligned between within SAP / CRM / TMT / COPA/ BW including resolving inconsistences identified by Health Checks
  • Complete Division Level Period End Closing activities as assigned (including PFME, Obsolete Packaging, coupons) and support Shared Service Center in the completion of activities to ensure accurate and timely financial and statutory reporting
  • Complete Magnitude reporting as assigned for submission to St. Louis and Vevey. Backup for FIM, Consolidation and reporting prepared by others.
Balance Sheet Integrity via Nestlé Reconciliation Tool (NRT):
  • Timely and accurate completion of assigned Balance Sheet account reconciliations including thorough documentation and clearing of aged items
  • Support Shared service centre for documenting and resolving discrepancies
  • Backup for assigning, generating, and tracking completion of all Divisional NRTs
PFME Decision Support
  • Business ownership for execution and monitoring of SOD Compensating controls and action plan for remediation of control deficiencies
  • Value added from Data Analytics (KRI and Key Configurations), clear and specific validation / feedback loop on false positive, ensure action taken to fix confirmed exceptions
  • Support the Finance team as required, in order to meet group objectives and projects.
  • Support PFME Budgeting, DF and reporting of program spend from SAP and CRM
What will make you successful?
  • Strong relationship builder with the ability to manage through influence and collaboration
  • Strong technical & problem-solving skills
  • 2-3 years financial reporting experience at a large company and 4-5 years overall accounting experience
  • Prior Experience in Accounting/Finance (IFRS, Large CPG, and direct exposure to manufacturing, supply chain and sales/marketing functions)
  • A self-starter, with strong analytical skills, the ability to prioritize workflow and operate independently in a demanding, fast-paced environment
  • Completion of University Degree in Finance or Accounting working towards a recognized Accounting Designation (CPA or CFA).
