Sr Data Analyst (Term)

What is the Opportunity?

The Sr Data Analyst (1 year contract), will manage the development, implementation, and support of business analytics initiatives within special projects reporting to the RBC Advice Centre Analytics team. Applies experience and seasoned knowledge, skills, and practices by building requirements, ensuring data quality, interpreting data, and delivering insights and visualizations.

What will you do?

• Develop and maintain dashboards using Tableau to provide rich and actionable insights.
• Collaborate with data engineers to source and understand new and existing data feeds.
• Interpret data findings and communicate insights in a clear and concise manner to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ensure data integrity and accuracy by identifying and addressing data quality issues.
• Collaborate with project team to create and understand business requirements and align data analysis with organizational goals.
• Retrieve, clean and organize large data sets from multiple sources.
• Conduct data analysis to derive meaningful insights and actionable recommendations.

What you need to succeed?

Must Have:

• Undergraduate degree in computer science or similar quantitative field.
• Professional communication skills with the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
• 2+ years experience in data analytics, data science, data modelling, or data visualization.
• Proficiency in SQL, databases, and data structures.
• Strong understanding of data validation and data quality concepts.
• Proficiency in Python, or similar programming languages used for data analysis.

Nice to Have

• Experience in Advice Centre and/or Financial Institutions
• Experience with the Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, Hive, Spark) is a plus.
• Experience with project based or agile teams is a plus.
