Position Description:


CPA Ontario is in search of an Education Officer for an 18-month full-time contract position. The position will report directly to the Director, Education in Student Services. The successful candidate will manage the training, hiring, contracting and monitoring of session leaders in the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP) in Ontario. Additional responsibilities include student management, management of the Doctoral Studies Program, Faculty Colleague Program, and Case Development Working Group, attendance at all CPA Preparatory and PEP exams, and other ad hoc projects. The position will be responsible for the management of one Coordinator, but is expected to provide guidance to the rest of the team.


Major Responsibilities:


  • Selection and training of new session leaders, including organizing and leading in-person session leader training sessions.
  • Soliciting and reviewing session leader availability for each module, each semester.
  • Overseeing coordinator’s functions, primarily in module workshop venue selection process; includes conducting site visits and signing contracts and invoices.
  • Contracting session leaders for each module, each semester, based on student registration and session leader evaluations. Module workshops occur on approximately half the weekends in the year.
  • Attendance at all CPA Preparatory and PEP exams, including weekend exams.
  • Management of processes related to students, such as uploading students onto the online learning platform (D2L), managing the student enrollment waitlist process, monitoring student module workshop absences to help assess student eligibility to write the module-end examinations, and assisting with student questions and concerns, such as workshop accommodations.


Qualification Requirements:


  • Prior experience in an educational environment is an asset.
  • Previous participation as a PEP session leader or facilitator is highly preferred.
  • Excellent proficiency using the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, and Outlook) is required.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment is required, along with strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • A proven strong attention to accuracy and detail is required.
  • Must have flexibility to work outside of standard business hours when required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), presentation, and people-management skills required.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the CPA Competency Map and accounting standards.
  • Successful completion of the CPA designation and a Member in Good Standing required.
