The opportunity


The Director of Leadership and Professional Skills Learning will lead and manage the global manager and professional skills development programs for the Global Learning Team. You will have oversight and leadership of Manulife’s programs that develop the professional and management skills for over 37,000 employees worldwide and lead the development of our people leaders to align around Manulife’s bold ambition. You will partner with the Talent, Leadership and DEI Centers of Excellence to develop and deliver on learning strategies which support the global efforts to develop our employees in core professional and leadership skills. You’ll work with the COEs and the HR team to create leading edge, transformative, research-based leadership programs and organizational effectiveness interventions.


Responsibilities


  • Serve as organizational inspiring leader on manager development and capability building programs, staying current on literature, practices and networks in relevant fields including training and professional development, leadership development, mentoring, and diversity
  • Actively use research and data to share impact and findings from programs with sponsors
  • Ensure ongoing programmatic excellence and effective delivery
  • Work with staff to develop necessary systems, processes and tools to ensure consistent, high-quality project management to better support the facilitation, collection, and sharing of knowledge that is generated by the programs
  • Develop and implement new programs
  • Oversee execution of all global professional and leadership programs, including review and redesign, standards of program delivery and coordination, training content and design; and ongoing development of culturally effective training materials
  • Recruit, hire, coordinate, and manage adjunct faculty/trainers
  • Ensure that key project outcomes are evaluated and leveraged for maximum organizational and participant impact
  • Lead the project management and scheduling of programs including budget monitoring

Salary & Benefits


The annual base salary for this role is listed below.


Primary Location


Toronto, Ontario


Salary range is expected to be between


$100,500.00 CAD - $180,900.00 CAD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
