Head of TELUS Health Learning
TELUS Health is a leader in providing mental health and leadership training to organizations of all types and sizes. Role Summary
The Head of TELUS Health Learning will be responsible for the overall growth and operations of the TELUS Health Learning business globally. This includes end-to-end accountability for developing strategy and designing and delivering innovative products that meet the market’s evolving needs. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to manage a full P&L including a direct sales team, working with other sales and account management partners to identify business opportunities and grow, managing a team of instructional designers, and working with internal and external partners to deliver amazing training solutions.
The strategy will involve building contemporary learning platforms, adult learning strategies, and mobile learning solutions that meet customer needs while improving the overall effectiveness of our solutions and driving revenue, profit, and market share growth.
The Head of TELUS Health Learning will be a hands-on leader that must possess the ability to build relationships, identify the gaps and find creative solutions in order to meet and exceed internal and external expectations.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning
  • Lead and take overall responsibility for the strategy of the entire TELUS Health Learning team and its operations
  • Lead strategic efforts to identify and execute initiatives focused on driving measurable benefits and revenue improvement
  • Pinpoint key trends and areas of growth while reviewing and evaluating performance results in the areas of learning solutions
  • Create multi-year strategic roadmaps that focus on a consistent client experience as well as program robustness while driving cross-channel intakes with a focus on revenue growth, quality and cost reduction opportunities
  • Provide a strategic business perspective to identify and address the needs of the TELUS Health Learning business through effective leadership and business management
Internal Operations & Client Service
  • Solicit feedback from clients and adjust the plan, as needed
  • Actively participate as the leader of the TELUS Health Leadership team by attending meetings, planning sessions and annual team events
  • Evaluate business risks and setup mitigation plans
  • Ensure consultants are exceeding client expectations
  • Maintain client relationships and establishing rapport with key decision makers and influencers
  • Oversee the ongoing development of guidelines, processes, standard operating procedures, methodologies, controls, and overall best practices to enhance core capabilities and to realize efficiencies
  • Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure functional interdependencies are addressed and overall customer experience is elevated.
  • Develop and manage detailed budgets, forecasts and team performance using internal tools, and external applications.
Growth & Sales Leadership
  • Monitor customer, market and competitor activity and provide feedback to company leadership teams and functions
  • Responsible for custom pricing for various services/requests as needed
  • Provide inputs for establishing annual revenue and expense projections and growth targets
  • Participate in client presentations and events as required
  • Maintain client relationships and industry connections to make sure our offering is relevant and meets client requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-LOB teams to drive greater penetration in the marketplace for Lifeworks Learning
  • Lead deal negotiations, proposal/statement of work development, closure of sales activities and other efforts impacting the sales process.
  • Travel for in-person meetings with customers and partners to develop key relationships
  • Drive a culture of identifying and assessing possibilities for additional partnerships, across the team
  • Work closely with the marketing function to establish successful support and programs
  • Provide detailed and accurate sales forecasting and adjust strategy as necessary
People Leadership
  • Directly supervise a team of approximately 50 employees and the quality of their work
  • Determine and assess staffing needs and support the recruitment process through hiring, onboarding and training of new team members as required
  • Communicate a compelling vision and commit to what needs to be done; inspire others; build motivated, high-performing teams; understand what motivates different people
  • Oversee teams and support operations by setting objectives and driving to KPIs
  • Create developmental initiatives for immediate leaders as well as their directs, including mentorship opportunities, to build talent pipeline as well as engagement.
Innovation Through Technology
  • Collaborate with industry leaders to understand upcoming platforms, technology upgrades etc. in order to provide an all-inclusive experience to the clients
  • Work towards an industry-leading, cutting edge offering using new tools and technology such as Augmented and Virtual Reality and others
Succeeding as our Head of TELUS Health Learning will require the following core qualifications and skills:
  • Experience with a strong focus on client profitability, quantitative and qualitative measures
  • High levels of analytical capability are essential, together with an ability to communicate complex data clearly and effectively
  • Must have relevant experience running large, multi-functional/multi-national projects involving stakeholder management from the executive level to the end user level
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in the area of Leaning & Development, Sales, Change management or Consulting with full P&L responsibility
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Sales & Marketing, or other human performance related field required
  • Strategic thinker with ability to anticipate future issues; Ability to anticipate and identify business needs that can drive value
  • Experience presenting to senior management is required
  • Demonstrated success in driving growth and managing a sales team
  • Bilingual (English/French) and multi-lingual fluency is an asset
  • Experience working in a matrix organization
  • Highly collaborative with ability to meet needs of multiple stakeholders
  • Proven skill in developing, articulating and delivering against key metrics
