About this opportunity:

The communications advisor, digital will work as a member of the Digital, Brand & Content (DBC) team to protect and improve Cenovus’s reputation, both internally and externally! The position requires strategic and critical thinking skills to lead and complete a variety of tasks and projects across communications. Areas of responsibility include collaborating on digital content and strategy, handling components of the corporate website, the company intranet and crafting written and visual elements for use on internal and external platforms. The role also requires the discretion to work and handle vendor and peer relationships as well as approvals from executives, subject matter experts and Legal. The role requires strong digital and writing skills.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in website optimization, including search engine optimization.
• Digital (external and internal web)
• Learn our CMS and be proficient in all aspects of the CMS including page creation, editing, component modification and other aspects of the CMS
• Content development
• Lead Staffbase strategy and weekly emails.
• Contribute to intranet content updates and reviews.
• Build written and visual content for Cenovus external digital channels, aligning with sustainability and engagement objectives.
• Perform additional communications as assigned. (Writing and posting news releases, intranet bulletins, reports, key messaging, reviewing documents, assisting with tours and news conferences, etc.).
• Coordinate and update web and intranet content, acting as a rotational web editor for multiple platforms
• Digital Projects
• Lead communication and technical in the digital display revitalization project.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of five years of experience in corporate or digital communications.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Sitecore an asset.
• Strong interpersonal skills, good judgment and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work on a wide variety of projects with multiple and contending target dates.
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
• ABC/CPRS membership an asset.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Post-secondary degree/diploma in communications or public relations or related education.
